i'm...going to be honest. i had the same thought as unwnd, i felt like you abandoned your vote on lunar far too early

I treat newbies like I treat every other game. I keep in mind that some people might act different due to not being used to the site meta, but playing the "kind, helpful SE" is unbeneficial unless I'm scum. Unless there's some sort of early fight that becomes the center of attention, but that didn't happen here.

I had the opposite reaction to Illwei's post, I thought it was kind of gross

i have an instinctual distrust of early readlists and so i felt a small bond with illwei when he said that. i don't think it's a reliable tell, and i don't necessarily have any issue with the content of either unwnd or safebet's lists, which is why i'm not voting them, but i appreciate that illwei thinks that way, on a gut level it feels town to me. why did you have an issue with that post?

I want to look over his list when I get home and check vote patterns up to this point. I wonder if the reads are based off who is the most scummy to the most townread to try and get a mislynch. I actually townread molla at this point but I think there are people looking his direction and this turned into uns hardest read

Something else that really sticks out to me is peta is not really forming reads. At least noticeably. It's a lot of questions and probing. This is why it's hard to read newb games sometimes. It can be in a attempt to help new players or adjust or it could be scum using that as an excuse to not have reads.

i didn't read it as pressure, but a reach out given our history together. at some point i'm going to hopefully get in a conversation with him and maybe we can figure each other out. i gave my methodology at the end of 59 - my questions all have a purpose to them, they're not idle or aimless. i know it's not always easy to figure out what's going on with a questioning playstyle but you'll have to try to infer my intent behind what i'm asking people, i guess. i stand by my method this game, i thought you were town with the way you jumped on quiet early, but it doesn't do me a lot of good to say that right away, it's much more useful to me to see what other people say about you and observe how quiet reacts. i'm entirely capable of generating reads (and extremely capable at fabricating reads), i'm just not in a rush to spill my opinions into the game in order to impress everyone. i'll reiterate what i said to safebet - if you want to know my read on a player, just ask.

Not doubting your capabilities in the slightest. But ask yourself as scum what is easier with new players. To stick out or slide by? Usually noobs will vote the loudest or the quietest. It's those that are in the middle that get overlooked and it's quiet easy for experience players to recognize and exploit.

that's not wrong, but doesn't not giving reads make me stick out, in a way? if my goal was to blend in there are much easier ways of doing so than what i'm doing right now. i'd probably be posting more reads.

the first answer is going to disappoint you. i've played a few games with both unwnd and bbmolla, and i don't have an opinion on either of them. with experienced players, i'm going to be a lot slower to give them credit than i would a newbie, because people who have played more games are simply going to be better at looking town than new players. familiarity with playes also tends to make me see things more in shades of gray, to see behaviors as part of their personality, rather than indicators of their alignment, so i tend to be slower at reading people i know. (the exception to this is when someone has clearly divergent meta, but in general i'm not good at meta and tend to use it as a last resort)

i think lunar is scummy, seeing as i'm currently voting them. i think quiet is odd, but not necessarily scummy, although i understand why you suspect them. i would say they are a light town read for me at the moment.

Because it didn't go anywhere, and the attempts made do not fit the mold to say. Pressure is not one vote and one instance of saying 'vote on boys, this is scum'. It's a conscious effort and requires a bit more finesse.
