I think it has some value to it.
I think if Dunn is a supersaint he wants to get eliminated. If he claimed vig, he wouldn't get eliminated, he would get shot, and someone that is not him would be in danger.

I would babyrage like a motherfucker and just threaten to not care and try to get people to sympathize with the fact that it seems like nothing I post matters as I proceed to OMGUS everyone who scumreads me because the only part of my towngame I can actually fake is my ability to read players who are scumreading me.

No, but he's surprisingly good at surviving a disproportionately long amount of time as scum. He might be mislynch bait as town, but in spite of his innate scumminess, he is ridiculously hard to actually eliminate. Like, he can survive for days upon days without being eliminated even if he's pressured heavily for four phases straight.

I can see FL picking Toogeloo for specifically that reason; he has this tendency to slip through the radar, be written off, be ignored, be invisible, the entire game, in spite of not doing much of anything. That's a valuable player to have on your scumteam.

Well, that’s great you can do that but not everyone can. I tend to lose all motivation to try when I’m wrongly scumread, if nothing I do or say makes any difference, so that’s where I am rn. If I feel I’m not getting listened to and my efforts don’t matter, it’s hard to keep caring. Ircher wondered why I suddenly got enthusiastic and started posting a lot when I had pretty much lurked out the first two days. Well, the Bell flip gave me new motivation, so I started really efforting but there comes a point when you realize your banging your head against a brick wall and I realize my attitude probably royally sucks and maybe we deserve to die for that alone but I just feel it doesn’t matter what I post, the reaction I get will be the same, because that’s exactly what it’s feeling like to me. If that wasn’t the case, believe me I’d be doing a helluva lot more.

I really want a reason to care about this game and solve because that’s obviously what I signed up for. I don’t need to be a universal townread to effort but constantly hearing things like I’m in the vigpool make me not want to bother.

aside from that, idunno i just don't get ur 5279
part of the appeal of the game to me as town is solving the puzzle and trying to put the pieces together and i'm not sure why it matters if ur in the vig pool or not? I don't see how that is town along with the fact that ur being scumread by the masonry is enough to disuade you from continueing to try to solve the puzzle. And also I'm not sure how this is supposed to even help me.

Only if a third scum is eliminated and/or we entertain the idea of keeping him alive.

If we refuse to eliminate him, and/or we don't eliminate a third scum, there's nothing game-losing about DEB's play here if DEB is scum. Innocents aren't innocents until there's only one scum alive, so him generating 'innocent' results with two scum alive does nothing to dampen the scum's chances of winning.

I said that really demotivates me and no I obviously don’t expect to get tr for saying that. I’m just stating a fact. I don’t need to be tr to care but yes being in the vigpool totally saps my WIM, which is extremely unfortunate because I had so much of it after we flipped Bell. :/

You know, that's not actually a bad idea. A variant on this game mode where the rules are much the same, where the town knows who the treestumps are, know one is town and the other is scum, the scum one drafted a hand-picked scumteam and the town one also did some drafting, but the town doesn't know which stump is which.

It'd become really obvious eventually, but that mechanic is genuinely an interesting one.

So, I tend to scumread anything that doesn’t make sense to me and rn, her 180 on our slot just seems to be really convenient. I wonder how it’s not occurring to anyone why it’s not suspicious at all that so many people are jumping on us? It should be obvious to you that at least one if not more scum is trying to miselim us, unless scum is just sitting back and taking the easy path of watching town cannibalize itself? One if not both of these things must be the case with our slot and I’ve been wracking my brain to figure out which one or both is the case.

Ah yes the player who was among the people hard-campaigning for Bell being scum yesterday and who had both of Dunnstral and DEB as scum candidates yesterday (and in DEB's case, the whole game) when there's a 100% guarantee

(Toogeloo's stated reason for scumreading me here should be pretty apparently bullshit here. I have not had perfect reads, but my reads are far from shit. They are at least average, if not better than average, overall, as most of the players I've called town are town and at least two of the players I've called scum are scum. There's been a few players I scumread that were town, and I did briefly townread scum, but my reads have evolved over the course of the game as I reevaluated, reconsidered, and reanalyzed, constantly in a state of flux. Notably, Toogeloo also was the one who made the bullshit claim that my reads hadn't changed, in spite of the fact that they very notably have.)

You don’t get it. If the masonry wants me dead or part of it, why shouldn’t scum pile on? Or let scum do nothing while the masonry doles out misrlims like there going out of style? Maybe it’s not obvious yet but if I were actually scum here, I’d be beyond stoked that the masonry in their infinite wisdom is pretty handing out scum miselims. So scum has basically two possible options when it comes to our slot, they can either pile on or they can sit back and do nothing while a demotivated town acts like sheeple and takes your bad direction. I can’t say whether any of this is the case for any of your other reads but I obviously know it’s the case for us.
