Yes. Seeing your own death as a bad thing is precisely why you f'd up day 1 if you're town. The second Imperium revealed, as town watcher in the wrong thread, you should have hard-claimed and explained why it is mechanically *braindead obvious* that you MUST be in the forward thread. Even if you're scum and even if we think you're a scum watcher, we probably still go for it because we force you to keep nachotammy alive. You can say "oh I softed hard enough" but not in a gamestate this cluttered. If you're town, you dun goofed. Anyway yeah no point continuing this now, just think you really are not helping by haranguing your thread about their reads of you when your mech play leaves a lot to be desired in a world of town!skitter. But if you're town I'm not helping by pushing this further either so I'll go ahead and disengage now.

The setup is waaaaaaaay, waaaaay, WAAY too fucking scumsided if his role is scum. Trust me on this, you do not need to actually think about brian's alignment this game. He is mason-level town.

I should have realized this day 1 but I didn't realize how quasi-bastard this setup was before I'd had a time to reflect, and how the quasi-bastard nature of the setup requires brian's role to be town.

In that case it was actually mechanically incorrect for Nachotammy to IC-reveal after the inverted turnstile had triggered, although I don't think they at that point had any reason to know how mechanically incorrect that was. Returning to my 'quasi-bastard' characterization...

Actually I can't even fault Cakez. There's reasons to activate day 1, and there's reasons to not activate day 1, but unfortunately activating day 1 after inverted turnstile is worst case scenario. Again, not that there's any way Nachotammy could have anticipated that. Large theme shenanigans. Meh

most of town power is in the wrong timeline

the only way to change timelines is to claim you have a reason to want to change timelines

one person can turnstile a day

scum get one kill per thread per night

the reason there's ton of redundant power is because this game's premise is like... turnstiling town power just to watch them die

the only reason pooky and pisskop are still alive, if they are not both scum, is because of how widely scumread they were.

brian's role is the ONLY way that town can, IN THEORY, coordinate bringing both a protective *AND* an investigative over to the correct thread in one day

the likelihood of town actually INFERRING that that's what they were supposed to do with brian's role is like... 0% though

but brian's role actually was how this entire game was supposed to work, just not in the way I thought. It was the only way to disrupt the pattern of 1 TPR turnstile-->1 TPR night killed

that's also why it being a role that can be IC'd off setup spec is not actually an issue for game balance like I was initially worried it could be

I don't disagree with thinking that brian is town, but:

They can simply not claim, not get turnstiled, not use their role, and then on day 4 the two threads can merge together and they can use their role. But then they don't get to use their roles on the first 3 nights? Sure, but they're not all dead or outted. And there can be other roles or mechanics in the game that can swap players around and figure out other players roles to help them
