I meant the timing of it was pedantic, because I didn't immediately claim in the middle of their fight. There was no resolution to the fight, it was just to recenter and refocus. It's a relatively nebulous argument for me to make. But I do play mafia to enjoy myself and those kinds of fights do drain my enjoyment out of the game some. So I won't deny me being a little selfish.

I'm only really defending my conduct because I believe my own reasons, because they're my real reasons.

If I were scum I wouldn't be arguing this.
I know I'm being wifomy, but that's just self-aware town me.
Helpfully pointing at why I'm not scum this game for town's benefit because people don't read other people's alignments too good.

1. They didn't sound repentant in the slightest. They never even bargained for their lives. As for whether their claim is true or not, I can only confirm they're 3p. I can't confirm their abilities. I think their play is in line with their claim. I also think, that in general, their claim wasn't going to save them unless somebody weird like me came along and bothered trying to optimize it to make the scum team sweat if their claim was true.
2. There's little reason for me to put my position at risk for a botch claim here as scum because I was comfortably town read.
3. I don't expect trust, I expect you to read the game and deduce that I'm town and then deduce I'm not lying about my claim.

1. I don't mean they sounded repentant, I mean their claimed role was repentant. Basically, they claimed they had 2 abilities - 1 pro-scum, 1 pro-town, and they only had the town one left (i.e. they are now a force for good). Aside from everything else, I can't believe a survivor plays like Oil has - the strategy hasn't been really pro-survival.
2. I don't think it's a high-risk gambit - as I said, it's probably a sound play for you as scum here, if you can keep it together. It's true you were comfortably townread, but lots of scum-wins come out of a good early fakeclaim which people trust. Like if you're scum, I think it's a good gambit which is only really undone by the motivation question we've discussed (town doesn't claim there).
3. Like I say, I'm torn on you. Gut says town, head says scum. Even leading up to the claim you were looking worse for me, so it isn't the claim alone. Your reads have been out on a limb.

Everything I do this game can be explained because I'm town this game.
Sometimes these actions were mistaken or wrong headed or poorly implemented but everything has a reason.

For example, I started pushing at Superbowl and Dunnstral because Mastina had them in her final scum reads.

Though I barely pushed at dunnstrall, because he almost never responds to anything you throw at him unless he feels threatened. Which I roughly knew wasn't happening by linking some oddly worded posts.
Superbowl just had a bad start and needed to be checked.

Everybody else was pushing at flea and oil. I didn't need to be there. I had already pushed at flea earlier and decided to try reading them from a different perspective.

Likewise, you should be aware that going against other people's majority reads is a town tell.
Sum are almost always sheeping town's reads with an exeption or two they rarely have completely different reads than everybody else and they don't tend to poke at corner's genuinely, they fake paranoia without the poke or they look for weaknesses in a player's defense, whih an be hard to differentiate but you probably get the point i'm making.

Not that this makes any difference at this point whatever, but to all of you whining about how we "scumsided":

1. We have to use the ability. There is no point in the game at which this is not "scumsided", short of a massclaim at LyLo where everyone turns out to be VTs.
2. Our enhancer and blocker are global. However for the enhancer, we don't know who gets modified just that it's a certain set of people with extra abilities. We do not know the alignments or identities of this subset of people. Arguing that either of these abilities is sided to one or the other with the knowledge you have is a non sequitur.
3. Both Nacho and I are NK bait. I have not lived past Day 1 outside of a newbie in years. Nacho's record for getting shot early is arguably worse. We play our normal game, we lose.
4. Don't shit on us for playing to our wincon. God knows most of you aren't playing to yours.

Oil's ability got announced, also I don't start a game (esp. 13p) assuming it will be multiball, so know that we know there's 3P stuff involved we need to take that into account with Bell's investigative. If they come up red it doesn't matter anyways though yes
