Mislynch be damned, I'm beginning to become convinced that defending Xtoxm is just not worth it. (Xtoxm is town, but with this being his level of contribution, I just...have far less willpower to fight a wagon on him. I will never join a wagon on him; make no mistake, he is indeed town. But I just...can't will myself to defend him when this is what he'll give.)
That being said, I will continue to push the players I think are scum and sort among the players I need to lock down to find the fourth.
For the record IF we have a deepwolf who is part of the town core it is 100% the worst as he's literally the only player here who I'd buy as possible as scum deepwolfing this game.In post 2571, Almost50 wrote:tw, Dann & Titus appear on 3 of the 6 wagons, and -again- I am not jumping to conclusions there yet.
But that's a big fucking huge gigantic 'IF', which is to say: I'm not gonna call there being a deepwolf until we have actually good evidence proving that there would be one. Which is the realm of like...day four, day fiveish. Until that D4-D6 range, I refuse to paranoia-mislynch a powertown player who is obviously town out of paranoia of them possibly being scum. Balance of probability is that there's no deepscum and all the powertown are indeed powertown. Which is to say that I would never support a tw elimination and he is still in my locktown category.
IF there's a scum in the locktowns, it'd be him, sure...but I don't think there IS a scum in the locktowns; I think they're all town. (Readslist showing said locktowns in a bit.)- Dannflor

I don't care much about convincing anyone. My goal is to get a couple of comments post-game that look something like this:In post 2698, Dannflor wrote:

In fact, I still object to eliminating outside of DGB/tw/Cephrir today

I mean I'm gonna try to visualize this with your picture Dann. Please note I am not going off purely actively rather I am trying to make sense of how I see people individually. This only serves as a visual. It should be clear that I do not think posting a lot = town.
The red bracketing:
You almost always find scum here. Why? Because I believe scum are absolutely okay with the way things are panning out and are using their close-activity as a proximity to Oka. Look at how these players only show up when the thread is seemingly eventful, but then he dissipates once it starts to slow down. I will the worst credit and he at least finds some things to commentate on, but Hercule/Hopkirk especially only seem to be maintaining their sense of accountability by popping in once the thread starts to get louder, while not adding to it. You might say 'well, that's probably good' but it actually isn't due to the fact scum don't have the same struggle townies do, so all they have to do is be good listeners.
Orange bracketing:
Here you find more town than scum, but scum possibly exists. I would say maybe about one? Two if lucky. My reasoning is that this bracket of players clearly have established presence, but are using it for more selfish ways. The difference between the red and the orange is that red players are reflexively proactive and the orange players are more instigated by their own pursuits. I typically lean this behavior as more likely than not town, but there certainly can be scum who can't latch onto what the game is doing so all they have is pretending to have a plan.
Purple bracketing:
This is just the could-go-either-way bracket for me. Ythan is scummy by inactivity. A50 is out in his own world. Titus seems to say very polarizing things. IV feels at a disconnect with the rest of the thread. This is the weird side of the game but also the one that becomes more revealing as time goes on, and people I'm not really interested in touching yet for that reason.
Brown bracketing;
I don't know what to do with these people. You could lim them and it would shake the gamestate all that much. It could be intentional but I'm not reading into it.Protect yourself from the back of your mind- unwnd

To be fair. ABR was legit around for my first non-newbie game onsite. (And for that matter, was one of the two ICs in one of my first newbies onsite. While he didn't have much of an influence on me at the time, later on, ABR is up there with Nacho in how large an influence he is on my scumhunting style.) It's a bit more surprising from DGB tho because most of my games with DGB are from the mastin2 era and it was there to see my coming out and even was the one to give me my mastin2 avatar. In post 2623, the worst wrote:seeing mastina referred to by her account name from 1000 years ago is so jarringIn post 2624, OkaPoka wrote:i used to read mastin2 articles as a young okapoka

I would be a much, much better player if I followed my own advice. A lot of my shortcomings are from a failure to adhere to my own teachings.
Most of my articles remain relevant in spite of being written years ago and have not become outdated; they give legitimately genuinely good advice that if followed through to the maximum level, would indeed make you a better scumhunter. I'm just an utter idiotic moron who can't follow my own teachings.
But I digress.
Sorry, I do promise that I'll be around more most days. <3In post 2601, Albert B. Rampage wrote:Mastin come back.

I don't catch up during the night, both because I can be nightkilled and more importantly because fuck not being able to properly quote posts. I realize that you can quote them by using the PM function but the formatting is vastly inferior and I can't be assed to go through that effort. In post 2669, OkaPoka wrote:plus we end day early and we give mastina 2 days of interrupted catching up- DrippingGoofball

yeah there definitely is scum somewhere in {duck, hercule, hop, ceph, dann} but that's just going to happen because scum want their tendrils in every group
but, im not going to bother looking in there yet when i think there are more pressing flips. i don't believe in murderizing solid townies who will be nk fodder or inevitably this game's last hope so i can live comfortably knowing that i 'wasn't' pocketed since i murdered everyone who i really like
we start murdering people like that and your going to see some absolutely embarrassing lylos- mastina

But I'd like to reiterate: no, I don't think there is deepscum. I feel very bad even positing tw as scum at all because I'm deeply terrified that people will construe this sort of post on a future day as evidence for tw being scum and paranoia-eliminate him when there's actually no deepscum in the locktown.)- the worst
