my point being, i wouldn't consider Prey an accurate model of my townself at all. in many ways i do think my scumplay and townplay have more in common with each other now than my current townplay does with Prey, meaning it's more a case of changing how i present myself on this forum within the last year and a bit than an AI thing.

this is the point where i do my dramatic reveal and mention that i was also at the same emotional stress level wrt pokémon sprites and my dreams are haunted by the striking imagery of black 2/white 2 as a genuinely imaginative and lively passion project made only better by the spirit the artists put into everything beyond just the popular ones but that’s okay because it gives me the emotional understanding that i need to be able to understand your pain allowing us to bond over it because i’m a young adult novel circa 2017 heroine who finds myself with an incessant need to take care of you and fix your problems even though the onus isn’t on me to do it despite my author thinking it’s the most intimate trope that you can add to a young adult novel but in reality i’m actually not one and i’m also just hollow inside but i am here for you we are going to get through this together and we’re going to recreate your understanding of reality to something beautiful and with living i am going to be the one that heals your heart again

possibly, but i won't be able to grant you serious thought on this until tomorrow, because i need some time to recover emotionally from everything Ydrasse just said to me. i think she's my soulmate. the Black and White sequels had so much passion, it was obvious in the art and storyline. god, especially in the spritework. they feel more alive than any of the dead-eyed 3d sprites. it's not as though it's the fault of the medium. i've been genuinely charmed by 3d modelling in so many other games, even from years ago. it's all about the personality and style that's put into the sprite or model, and something was missing when Pokemon made the switch. hell, the gym leader/important trainer opening battle animations? they were just subtle little things, a hair flip, stretching out an arm, closing a hand into a fist, but god, they hit. now what do we have? what happened to using the posing of a sprite to show some personality?

(i don't townread RCE, so sure. though it helps that unwnd thinks he's scum. i'll think about it. i'm not settled on you, but i'm having some doubts based on this conversation we just had. second opinions from others would be helpful!)

i think the 3d could have been fine, but I think the games have just been a shell of what they used to be story/general play through wise.

all i’m saying is that there’s something awful about how textureless and dead inside the 3d models are and how genuinely sad i am that we will never be able to experience the newer generations of pokemon with 2d sprites that aren’t fanmade and also we won’t get the sort of art that we got from gen 1 that genuinely invokes some sort of nostalgic emotion from me that i can’t explain but it hurts my heart for how charming it is like. the way they’re all illustrated and shaded and colored and how they lean into realism just a little bit makes it feel like a truly engaging, and almost cozy world to explore and i couldn’t appreciate this sort of thing when i was younger but now that i can it makes me want to go to that world somehow to be surrounded by these creatures

it's that feeling that's inspired me to go and complete all of my Pokedexes in every gen. i just couldn't leave them alone. i'm playing FireRed for the second time right now, in order to get Suicune and complete my national dex. i'm using different pokemon every time i play in an attempt to experience as many of them as possible.
the most time-consuming part has been the Emerald Hoenn dex three times in order to get each of the johto starters, but it's worth it because they're just so charming to play.

a vulture pokmon was long overdue.

the only parts of Sword and Shield i would say are an improvement is in giving the rivals satisfying character arcs. but man, nothing can beat Gen V. it has my favourite story, favourite dex... though purely geographically i still prefer Hoenn.

this isn't surprising at all, no. my favourite Normal type was Togekiss, and it would be my favourite Fairy if Mawile hadn't also acquired the type.
but the best type is Bug.
