i do hate Ali's argument here, that e wouldn't be trying to look town as scum, but it almost sounds too obvious. does e really say something as backwards as "do you think i try to show i'm solving as scum" as scum? eir scumgame is fine.

read my recent games. I'm not as showy showy about my fakesolving when I'm scum and its a town trait for me.

i think it's more the self-meta angle i dislike, i don't have a concept of your current town vs. scumgames, but as scum you are still going to show your solving to a degree either way. it's easy to say "i'm doing it more than my recent scumgames" when you have been, but that doesn't say much about your alignment when you're aware of it and, i'd imagine, at least somewhat capable of faking aspects of your towngame, because that's needed to get anywhere as scum.

i don't scumread the comment, what i dislike is framing it as an obvious difference between your town and scumgames when realistically if that were the case all the time, your scum winrate would be shit/you wouldn't ever get miselimed as town.
i mean... perhaps that's true? i wouldn't know.

Its very different and it has nothing to do with my scumgame being "fine." My scumgame is "fine" because I understand the alignment, I know how to play to a crowd, and I know how to take control of a game. My scumgame was never about looking town.

Just because I'm self-aware of my meta doesn't mean I can fake it on the spot.
Like ya I can fake the surface level things and manipulate how people expect me to be as town. One Night Stand was basically me just doing that. But I can't fake the stuff that actually makes me town. I can't fake solving a game if I'm not trying to solve it and I already have all of the answers.
If you put One Night Stand right next to this game and tried to compare the two I'm sure you'll see some very different things.

But yes Chara, atm my scum winrate is shit and my towngame is very easy to identify.

And I imagine how you as town could come to the conclusion to scumread my slot given if I tried to look at my own slot and try to see what it was doing. The reasons themselves may not be what you’re thinking exactly, but that doesn’t really matter.

Either way I don’t play proactively anymore. Recently I feel like I play at my best when I play reactively and try to read the gamestate as well as player positioning.
I’ll be like this for awhile until I feel comfortable playing my hand.

At least not as town. Honestly the game is more enjoyable for me that way because I get to let the other players around me play their parts and I get to solve the puzzle.

As scum I have a meta of being extremely proactive early to try to establish thread control and dominance, as I proceed to not care about looking town and use the fact I’m scum to try to dirty my hands to get as much done as possible. Its a meta I’m not sure if I should try to maintain due to the fact that my slot because so easy to read and most players who know me know that this is how I play the game as scum and basically it only works on players who don’t know how I play.

Tbf though, you said something very similar here. Anyway, thanks for linking that game. Pooky sounds identical here as in that game.
