any answer at all, at this stage. still getting a feel of what to look for, and i hadn't seen their prior game(s) day 1 yet

An advice for absolutely new players (especially if you are not mafia): if we talk a lot, it is much easier to understand who is mafia among us. So don't keep silence a whole game.

And I think it will be good if everybody will make the introducing like that. It helps to understand the players.

but this almost certainly does not lead to catching mafia, and i cannot imagine vasex's experience pointing towards 'everyone share their experience' is likely to help catch mafia, it just helps mafia have something to talk about that isn't catching mafia;

they get to talk about their experience and then they also get to talk about other's experience and any discussion that comes from that and so forth

It's common knowledge that talking (lurking) is considered scummy; that's not the point here. Here Vasex is advising new townies not to be shy in expressing their opinions because that will help the town discussion.

If Mafia are talking only about their experience, they will be called out for filler. It's not like Vasex has suddenly opened the doors for Mafia to cruise through the game by fillering.

IMO both of the posts you quote are NAI, and Vasex will need to talk more for us to read him. The response to the first quote ("knows mafia must talk! to seem towny") is not saying anything helpful.

i don't think any conclusions on Vasex will go further until a response, but I did find the early interaction with Ydrasse interesting. it could definitely be a "he'd have *US* killed/he'd have us *KILLED*" thing of not quite knowing which side is which, but i'm not sure about positive friendly game-related interactions like that in a stage where my impression is that town should be skeptical

that and questioning if i was really a new player, which isn't relevant to finding mafia

Between you, TRQ and floo it is rather difficult to choose, but all of you are hanging the townie, as a fact. But you say that the game is less random for you because of the first page and possible PR, according to the words of flow trap. So you are more sure than any of them, but in the same time you are talking about skepticism. So your mistake is bigger among these three.

And according to my experience the info about the experience of players can be really useful and relevant. Not only to finding mafia but also to finding townies instead of thinking they are mafia.

I didn't say that all mafia is definetely there. I believe that one of them can be there. This is talking about nothing. We can talk the whole game about 1/9 chance of having the definite role. So what? Not to hang anybody? This is not about the Math, though it can be useful sometimes here.

Honestly I'd better search for mafia firstly among not much talkative persons, but in the same time I don't like FBJim arguments about me.
