MMOs are only a time sink if you let it. If you just play casualy and don't worry about keeping up with the Jones then it's not an issue. Are they addictive? sure So IG you could argue that it's best to stay away so you don't become addicted.Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

i dont mean open worldIn post 29, Ythan wrote:I've come full circle to appreciating being railroaded.
I'm more on about the time commitment being quite variable
recently been playing games that take a set amount of time so I wont' think "just another level" or "I'll clear the next area"- Ythan

d2 has nothing funky like that. I just like ladder better than non-ladder b/c I can make ladder only ruwords. I'm also not worried about ever making it in the lists. In post 30, xRECKONERx wrote:i did some leveling for the most recent d3 season and had fun but then i realized the season armor didn't have a set dungeon even tho you had to do a set dungeon to complete a seasonal goal and i was like fuck it im outOf all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. I have no docket
Until the year of our lord two thousand and eighteen the only PC game I had bought outside of the Diablo series was Warcraft III
I then bought Blood Bowl II, and have only played against the AI because I can't guarantee I will be free the entire stretch of time needed for a game to play against actual people. So that's currently my only PC gaming. Averaging maybe 5 games a week right now, and they're good because they are contained to about an hour.
I guess I also do Table Top Simulator, but that's every two weeks with my gaming group (thanks corona) and maybe once every two months or so with my brother/nephew- shaft.ed

WTF has happened? I mean, to begin with, it feels very empty but then again it's a 20 year old game so I don't really expect just a ton of players but it's like half the games are just ppl begging for free items. like I don't mind giving out some free things and I'm not too proud to admit that I've benefited from someone giving me free items but I've never begged for anything.Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. I mean, I occasionally like human interaction and there are ladder only runewords and items. I'm just saying that it's just mildly stupid that so many players want free items in a game that's not super hard to get items and I have nowhere else to rant.Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.
