Though there is a chance that he knows that kitty is true cop , in that case his action has sense... though if he is faking like a townie, it is also has a sense. I'm not a big fan of the "let's flip X slot to get info" line of thinking (in general). If the gamestate is largely similar D2 we can look at a Kitty lim and that will give us associatives for Enchant
