folks, after further research i have learned that not only are troop drafts based on whoever PMs the mod first in defcon 4, but defcon 4 itself starts not when deadline is reached / when defcon 5 is hammered, but rather when the mod posts that it is defcon 4

not sure i'm a huge fan of this system but when in rome

@mod can we please use the randomization to resolve drafting conflicts that was in prior games? having it be timing based is arbitrary and unfair

Since this is dependent on speed, if anyone is super lazy/will struggle to put together a list in time for DEFCON 4, here's a sample draft that should work fine for town.

If you want a nuclear weapon go Submarine into Silo.

If you want to prioritize PRs here's my general suggestion or template:

1. Espionage
2. Fighter
3. Battleship
4. Aircraft Carrier
5. Submarine
6. Radar
7. Counterintelligence
8. Strategic Missile Defense
9. Covert Ops
10. Eavesdrop
11. Silo

Mix it up as you want. If you think drawing a scum PR is lame, gimme town PR or nuke, go for it. I did not include Fail Safe, Fallout Shelter, or Air Base in this list as I don't think the first two should generally be picked and I think Air Base should go to Bell/have scum burn a pick to block him getting it.

Yes. A rolecop in this game is very valuable because scum can use the submarine as a daily second kill and it catches the SK outright, among other uses.

The value of Bell specifically being the person w/ Air Base outweighs the benefit of a single stopped kill.

I suppose it is worth clarifying with Cakez/looking at previous games to see exactly what Fighter returns, "Troop" or "Silo" would not be particularly useful while a specific troop or which silo mode would be.

Why are you so mad about it? If you were town, you'd simply have noted my criticism and moved on. The fact that you are still obsessed with trying to defend yourself is, in itself, scummy. Move on.

(a) that's a completely unfounded assumption based on how you imagine town would play, and (b) I don't even really care about defending myself, I'm trying to understand your thought process so I can read you-- and I have a leg up here, since I know that you're entirely off-base, so I can try to figure out whether I think you made an error or whether it was more malicious.

As it is, it seems like you just dropped a buzzword down and then tried to retroactively justify it, which is probably slightly +scum, but only slightly.

Also potentially good for catching scum fakeclaiming a PR without outing that PR (not super likely to happen, but it did happen last time )

Though actually, it's probably better to just say that taking fighter is a scumclaim, because then if scum do take it they'll have to counterclaim a different troop.
