No I agree it wasn’t intentional. I would have actually replaced out if I had concluded that it was done as an attempt to throw the game or to target me personally. I didn’t think it was meant in that way at all. But defending it after the fact really blows my mind.

Concerning lying on results or roles as town, I'm against this unless the lie is in line to what you are / result.
For example, a PGO claiming vig, or claiming 1 shot when 2, or even an innocent on a Mason buddy... But claiming guilty or innocent without confirmation just discredits your claims going forward and hurts town more often. Even when I'm so confident in a trade, I've still never been confident enough to lie.
