I believe gladiator's can cancel their ability, I'm not sure if every gladiator can do that or if this was a unique mechanic where the name was revealed as a consequence in exchange for the ability to cancel.

Avenger can still be a scum miller, but his flavor is very spot on so I'm not sure they lied about anything.

I don't think anyone is disputing that Avenger started the gladiate or that Avenger ended it


The thing that strikes me as odd is how sudden of a tonal shift there is. Avenger is still loudly defending his gladiate on Foreigner in 1260, and then meekly surrendering in 1262. Reading it back to back is surprising.

In 1260, Avenger is responding to Lancer's 1255. So, as of reading 1255, Avenger appears to still think their gladiate is the right play, and is defending it.

Then only post from Alter Ego following that is

The fact that Avenger is now saying they don't even town read Moon Cancer (they are null) makes this play even wilder.

Was he really so bothered that town was going to elim a null read, that he decided to step in and make sure that did not happen?

On a day with a double elimination, no less.

So to see Avenger so suddenly change his stance to

I think Avenger recalling the gladiate after seeing that he was going to lose it is very NAI survivalist. He can't very well do his scum agenda and/or push his Foreigner scumread if he's dead. Foreigner resistance actually increased as a result of the play there. I'm not sure what Avenger's intention was with recalling it but that's my best guess.

Meanwhile, Moon Cancer is still scum.

He was already in my pool of preferred eliminations, so I'm mostly just interested to see what Moon flips here.

Claims:

Avenger: I am claiming Miller
Assassin: Claims their NP a guaranteed cop-shot that can even go through the miller
Saber: Claimed their NP was one of the strongest in the game, but just recently claimed the ability would limit the posting of 1 player
Beast: Claimed they are informed that Shielder is town

Berserker/Mod Confirmed: They are immune to investigations, but I don't think that matters much, now that they are confirmed town anyways

Saber's point of view makes no sense to me. That ability would be cool if it were a normal ability and not a generally limited-to-1 NP.
The miller claim sticks out to me here because what Beast is claiming takes the spot of investigative power and Assassin seemed surprised because miller didn't really make sense with their role. Could be a red herring.

I've never heard of gladiators being able to cancel their gladiates after the fact, but to be fair I haven't come across many

I would also expect cabd to have given decent fakeclaims for scum, so in general I think "did they lie about their abilities" is a really poor indicator of alignment.
