Can you elaborate? I read your first sentence as an argument for scum!NM because of making more of an effort on a Shrek miselim than Luke. But this would only really make sense for scum to do if Luke was the partner, no? But then the push today. Wouldn't that resolve the tension in the first sentence? I see it as gradually getting more serious, but the mod warning is probably the most realistic thing.

The thing that confuses me about Luke is this-- mafia killing Val would theoretically mean that anyone thinking it was SvT would be looking at Luke, so you would think that a not-Luke mafia team would be more likely to do it. Yet if it was TvT, then it makes the most sense, I think, to keep them both alive to keep the distraction going.

All in all, I personally think the mafia was probably PR hunting as I also thought that Val was a potential PR. In that sense, Val was a good VT to draw the kill...?

Alstro, I'm not sure how much we can read into NM behaviorally, but to clarify my post, I just think it's interesting that he cast a vote on Lukewarm earlier in the thread, was instructed by the mod that it didn't count, and never seemed to correct the record. Then he voted against Shrek which was similarly not counted, but that one he corrected to make sure it did count.

The latter vote was of course part of the wagon that resulted in Shrek's elim.

So the reason I asked this is that Val was pretty obviously hinting at a PR yesterday with posts like 248 and 276 and 282. I thought it was quite blatant, in fact, and while I tried to be at least somewhat subtle about why I didn't think he was a good wagon for the day I thought I was pretty obvious as well, to the point where I am very surprised that anyone didn't see this. I assume that baiting the NK was precisely his goal, so scum saw it at least. Did you seriously miss this?

I read 276 and 282 to mean once he dies.

Like, 276, "I can see it now, if I get eliminated, then you will have to back pedal" and 282, he was responding to alstro talking about me looking bad if we miselimed Val

Which, at the time, I took as him trying to scare me off of pushing him

Looking back at 282 specifically, I do see now that it makes more sense as a PR soft

My big takeaways from all this are:

I'm townreading Luke, lots of pressure and a willingness to give up his top scum read (who gets NK'd), his death-tunnel with Val does not jive with a Val NK for me
I'm a little more sus of Marci than I was for taking what look like "easy" votes,
Alstro settling on Shrek and their drive for us to consider voting the slot could either be towny trying to make sure we don't miss a lim opportunity on d1 or scummy trying to make sure we don't miss a mislim opportunity
NM feels scummier than before given an early drive to get Luke today
Umlaut and Zyla are still kinda in null for me

Luke is still Null Town for me, because the NK doesn't make sense to me for Luke, but neither does the tunneling on Val yesterday

Umlaut was one of my big 3 questions other than Shrek, and they and NM were on the Shrek wagon, so if NM is town, Umlaut is probably scum imo
I really think the way that Not_Mafia is playing is anti-town, but I'm not sure whether they're scum or just a nuisance
