And yet you town read me because I have vague reads (I could literally name any three people at any time since) and am WIFOMing the player list that I want to be shot.In post 372, Hectic wrote:Generally, scum like to keep their options open more. Means they have less explaining/faking to do on progressions down the line if they need to scumread someone they previous townread or vice versa
I think the main reason it's scum-indicative though is that most scum feel taking a hard stance one way or another feels more risky, and is more prone to criticism/suspicion. Being open on the read feels like the safer route which is harder to scumread for specific points

So, here's why votes and being town read is a fallacy in this game.
Scum CANNOT kill another player. Town does all the killing. So a player who is almost universally town read can live forever in this game. A potential scenario (and in actuality, one of the best plays they can do) for a scum win includes one of them bussing the ever living crap out of the rest of their team and convincing gun owners to shoot scum teammates along with town. This gives the bussing scum member some value of longevity in the game since it's a known fact that scum cannot eliminate threats to them. There can't be a scenario in a game like this where the gunowner questions why the most town read player is still alive, because scum can't kill the most town read players anyways. A player who makes it to endgame who helped decide the fate of 1 or more scum is still just as likely scum as whoever else is in endgame.
It is 100% on the gunbearer, and their ability to read and trust themselves to make the decision that they think is best for the town win, and not a good idea to trust votes, or how a target consensus was reached. This is why the game is more akin to something like Bad Idea.- Toogeloo

I just realised, if i get gun, my shot is deciding. In post 323, Pavowski wrote:Saturday morning hot take:
I'm still sitting in null on too many people: Toogelo, Vulture, Enchant.
To those 3: who would you absolutely not shoot today if you were holding the gun?
Don't give it to me, too late. I will screw up i think.
If i am somehow still chosen, Macsi looks like typical shapegoat and i think she is in real town. Art impossible to read and i would not risk shot him.
Others is fair game.- Hectic

I mean, I didn't want say just yet why this is a terrible idea, but yeah, Toog's right, GalronIn post 310, Galron wrote:Most likely. I'm going to take the full day and shoot based on votes, as if it were a launch.

I know how this feeling.
For mafia overall.
I don't think she is competent with gun, no offense.
And she also have notstandart game for which she get scumreaded, but actually i don't think mafia would act so outrageous.
I really think, she obvious for try to force her as shot target, because she is easy gain suspiciouns and can quickly lose game via random.- marcistar

his iso is horribleIn post 324, Pavowski wrote:Why are you scumreading Enchant?
(21, 31, 35) + he didn't respond to too much from the pages, even though theres a decent amount to build off of so far. it doesn't look like hes pushing anything, doesnt look like hes solving.
yw for the hard carry
im sus??In post 330, Hectic wrote:I'm suspicious of players who have voiced minimal or few scumreads, despite the fact there are FOUR scumazzers out and about from a town player's perspective. Players that fall under this category include T3, marcistar, Toogeloo, and probably others
It's probably pretty difficult for scum to voice many scumreads here, given they either have to choose in the limited pool of townies, or give scumreads on their buds
the reason i dont give reads is my confidence is nonexistent
sir i like just woke up so this is a struggle for meIn post 330, Hectic wrote:Could everyone give 3 or 4 players they think are scum, and why?
prob vulture, for things idk how to explain haha gottem
i dont like pavowski when hes like "based on meta marcis prob town but my gut says shes scum here anyways" something like that that he keeps bringing up to back himself up, but otherwise he seems decently fine.
In post 341, Hectic wrote:Anyways, it feel like marci is the best shot here.

If anything, this is town indicative for me. As town I usually prefer to form a townbloc early and then lim people in the PoE. For example, Open Draft Mafia or Large Normal 234 are my most recent towngames in which I did exactly this.In post 330, Hectic wrote:Could everyone give 3 or 4 players they think are scum, and why?
