Eh, I think it's normal to hurt each other's feelings accidentally and intentionally to play toward win condition.
In the case of the early Medea rage, I'll go with uncomfortable and distressing if you prefer. But it still hurt. I just don't have an issue with that since it's just inevitable because some of us are sensitive and thin-skinned but that's definitely a me problem. Not a them problem.

So, outright, we know for sure there is at most ONE scum demon. Why? We're a STARTING demon. Our role is extremely useless, as hopefully correctly conveyed to finches, a la Estelle the poison doc in Tales of Vesperia. My role does SOMETHING at night, not gonna say what yet since it'll be in our flip, but we self-roleblock if visited in any way shape or form. You know, the night action magnet guy, me, hi, drew this one. So completely useless. We want zero ambiguity about our role's outcomes so we'll be conditionally posting targets based on alignment of flip before hammers.

Locking us in as an early hardpush to mislim, or early night kill, would give scum a guaranteed lock in extremely early towards that alternate win condition. Based upon the conventional wisdom of "no victories in a mini theme until night 3/ day 4" we assume there are 8 shards in play right now, give or take. We are assuming that scum has a total of 4, in a 2/1/1 split, but that's pure conjecture worst case scenario on our parts. Having two additional demon-degrees of safety completely turns this on its head though. Probably more singleton shards in circulation to let people power up, and since we only need to leave five undemonified players around, there's more room to power up town players if we can.

Depending on how today's elimination goes would dictate scum strategy, but regardless IF there is a desharding role in play, we would request it be used on us tonight. As we said, we don't see a world where we aren't targeted by scum or well-meaning town at this point, which makes us functionally useless as a PR. Not sure if we have a power drawback because we started 'powered up' or what, but that's where we are.

Co-written post, ten points to anyone interested enough to point out where PA took over.

You think they swapped their wincon plans and adjusted their play accordingly? Haven’t they been a bit too transparent about it though?

I also think there are scum (me included) that have a mean streak. I genuinely think some players become very opinionated when they become scum and start to judge other players in an attempt to achieve their win condition by attempting to leverage control through, uh.

Incidentally, Unwnd themselves would fit this archetype, since they came into the game grumpy and doing roughly the equivalent of that and I've been saying as much.

However because I'm not scum I have to point out that, actually, they make mafia discussion threads mid-game as a sort of personal quirk so that's tough to figure out which it is. I don't really know what their effort scum game looks like because I've only seen the relatively mild mannered version of Unwnd scum who didn't get onto a soapbox at all.

It's a confounder

A hopefully not-so-shitty reads list

I'd bet my balls are town

sleez/unwnd
- they're not afraid to instigate or take polarizing stances. i feel like im maybe overexplaining my read on him cos it honestly boils down to i like what he has to say and i like how he engages with others. i wont act like his read on me has nothing to do with it but my positive viewpoints predate that, i guess i'd place it like a cherry on top. i like how he re-evaluated his read on luke a while ago. i also like his engagements with annie i remember. i'll go back to the quotes posts and explain probably later.

Annie Edison
- As previously mentioned I think their "want to carry town" shtick is believable and feels backed up by their actions in thread. i've liked a lot of the moments they've made admitting their insecurity or general unsureness regarding various topics. their drive feels genuine and town-motivated

I'd bet one (1) ball are town

Spiffeh
- I'm not sure how much of this read is based on being pocketed by their TR on me. Their desire to engage with people that read them as scum earlygame and frustration regarding the basis of peoples reads on them is compelling and pretty towny.

Pooky
- their earlygame agression aimed at cab is pretty towny in my opinion. i guess im inclined to read agression (even jokingly) as more towny. Later he mellowed out but theres been nothing that stuck out to me in the iso so im pretty comfortable townreading him

No balls at stake (still townreading)

HTBD
- Im more relying on gut for this one, but i especially liked their thoughts on me. their thought process on me didn't feel as postured as other ones i'll mention. i liked their mention that they're not sure how people TR them in general when they could be pointing out something they do as scum they havent done here.

LLD
- I'd like to talk to engage with her more, which is totally on me but something I will work on moving forward. I can follow most of her thought processes as town; probably bc of her posting style but despite grievances with certain opinions im inclined to townread her.

----------------
i got to this point and realize i had 6 townreads i was varying levels of confident which wasn't what the amount i'd really like to have, but im not gonna force myself to write some shlock i dont really believe when i dont have a handle on certain slots.
----------------
??? (need to look at + sort)

[Titus, AA9, Snarky]

Light Pretty Scum

Dunnstral
- i do not get why everyone is townreading him the way they are, i believe spiffeh expressed a similar opinion earlier. i dont buy not knowing abt the alternate maf wincon and the way he mentioned it was awkward and felt positioned. read on me feels weirdly understated given the circumstances and he hasnt weighed in on much useful recently. i feel like hes kind of coasting on townreads instead of forming any new thoughts or making engagements.

Medea
- I found myself honestly questioning what i thought of them when they talked about my townreads scumreading them and things became a lot easier after that. people i hold faith in are scumreading them and under normal circumstances that would be enough but there are quite a few things that stick out like a sore thumb for me. their reads feel clunkier then what i'd expect of them but they keep skirting around shit and its getting a little frustrating to deal with. i totally get their business but what theyre posting feels selective and less upfront then i'd like.

Ugly Dark Red Scum

Luke
- Gone are the days of using the medea vote as part of my reasoning, though i guess i could apply the logic as scumbuddies thats something for later. (sidenote - a lot of these reads are individual and i havent checked on teammate equity yet). Early game response to the FoS was weird (totally random thing i noted). I feel like he isnt presenting himself the way he was in NQN. His response to hesitance regarding him has been weird, as he kind of vaguely ackowledges something is off instead of looking for where the issue is. another thing that pinged me was his vote of me, it felt contrasted again to NQN where he made a show of explaining his thought process. i'm not seeing the same level of drive and desire to explain and analyze overall
will be back eventually
