Ok Manatee confirmed earlier that they were corrupted on Night 2. I assume they also got demonized on Night 2 (since I received two shards and was demonized on Night 3). Assuming this to be true and Manatee is telling the truth, this implies that scum can both corrupt and give shards to the threshold of demonization to the same player in the same night. We know that Manatee was the target of this ability on N2, and Snarky has claimed to be corrupted so they seem to have been the target on Night 3.

This leads to an important question:

Who was corrupted on Night 1?

It seems like something that immensely furthers the scum alternate win condition that they seem to be going for, and since Annie Edison publicly had one shard from the handout on Day 1 and the fact that scum can corrupt AND give shards to the same player in the same night, why wouldn't they use corrupt+give shard to {ANY PLAYER}/give shard to Annie Edison to lock in two demons the first night? We know they didn't do this because Annie Edison claims to have been demonized Night 2.

The fact that no one is claiming to be corrupted Night 1 indicates to me that scum did not have access to this ability on Night 1. Even if it's X-shot there is no reason for them to wait to use this ability because what if the player with this ability was limmed Day 2? Then they wouldn't have been able to make use of it. So there must have been another reason that scum didn't use the corruption ability Night 1.

Probably because they needed to demonize the teammate with this ability in order to use it

. That makes sense because it feels like an OP ability and a mechanics-based delay on this role seems like a good idea for balance purposes. And demonization resolves the next Day so scum wouldn't be able to start corrupting until Night 2 at the earliest.

Guess who claims to have received two shards and been demonized on Night 1 and thus the only player who could have gained the ability to corrupt?

I have started as a human and turned into a demon after receiving two shards on night 1.

This is assuming that scum don't have another way to distribute shards/demonize themselves, which I think is a reasonable assumption. Someone check my logic, but

this makes it VERY LIKELY that ArcAngel9 is the Corrupter.

She should be the next player to claim.

ArcAngel's demonization always felt odd to me outside of this. She got some pressure from Annie Edison on Day 1 but she exited Day 1 being almost universally townread so why bother demonizing her more likely lims for the day like myself or CephTD?

Alright well first off

As I've been saying since D1, I am a

shard vendor. I'm a one-shot however, and the number distributed is only 2. The kicker of my role is that if I become

demon

then I lose my ability entirely and just become a vanilla townie.

If you remember my theories and how I was treating the game, this was one of the reasons for them. I said it before maybe two pages back however that the 48 hour cooldown (actually it was 72, even worse) has left me abandon. I still have a lingering feeling, but I no longer have it in my memory banks

That doesn't displace it entirely, but right now I feel like I've mostly reset and am playing something close to D1, even if it's D4. So where does that leave me? Just going through the motions all again and acting on impulse. Spiffeh beat me to the chase in some regard but I do have a differing way of looking at it. The conclusions he wrought from the situation is..fine. I like the initiation at least.

I have in my head how I feel about all this but some part of me is sitting here like 'what's the point?' Let's go through it anyways!

This isn't to keep my cards hidden or whatever, I pretty much have fucking junk in my hand anyways, so unless the River is great I see no need to sandbag or pretend I'm holding something secret. My bluff was more or less D2 which ended up in Dunn/Medea both confirming another, so it slightly shot my confidence (as stated) yet I was still Calling every time without necessarily Raising. Do pirates even play poker? Probably not. Silly me.

I want to kill Dragons because gut feelings and reasons that I could've written better had I not been iced out for 72 fucking hours. I have my townreads which are easier to categorize in my head because they are memorable. I spend a lot of D1 townhunting. I try to look for 2 or 3 people I can reliably trust and then bin them for a later day and just accept my hubris if I'm wrong. Those 3 people were Lukewarm, Manatee, and Annie. D2 rolls around and without a kill I'm a little agitated because that's data I could use. I knew Pooky scum hammered (I literally told the mod this and said GTH Titus flips town) so it was just navigating that feeling and seeing what it lead to. As far as recanting all this it really is just jogging my memory to some aspect and giving you my perspective. So I can stare at it and look it over as well.

So..back to dragons. I just think he looks fundamentally worse than everyone else and I have no reason to townread them. I no longer think there is a secret scum manipulating the game before us rather scum has been in survival mode. I can't really think of anyone else who fits that description more than Dragons, who has been self-absorbed this whole time. Afraid of being left out or being scumread. The righteousness doesn't feel earned. D2 it didn't and his big wall just made me confbias here more. It said a whole lot of nothing yet tried to be so loudly. And for what? No offense Dragons but you make that big, stirring speech to your crewmmates I would assume that'd mean this was a revelation for you. Yet even at this start of this day I don't see you thinking about what it means or even caring. I think the apt description in the mafia world is frozen? Yeah to me you just look really frozen. The only thing to come out of you is grumbling about Medea even if the odds are against you. Your scumread is stubborn, but not stubborn in the same fashion of a townie who thinks they have the right read. It doesn't evolve organically and it seems more like you kept because you're afraid of pivoting. There isn't anything you're developing around it either, and now that we're in D4 this is what I expect of most people.

The necessity to find your bearings or get over yourself is no longer valid. While I'm disoriented and a bit blank on certain details, I'm still here trying to remember. I don't get your position Dragons and I didn't get it D2. You feel oddly convinced on Pooky yet I come back to what I've been saying this whole time: earned. Your status is not earned. Your lackthereof is not earned. Your reads don't feel like you've sought them out or found a way to conclude, yet they are still here and I'm just supposed to believe them. I really don't and I'm not trying to be mean. You know I think you're awesome and am glad you're in this game but I don't think your mindset is the one I have, or the others. It's only about yourself and staying alive.

I have no read on AA9 and I just liked that you threw something out there. I want to kill Dragons for mafia reasons and not setup reasons. I think setup reasons is nice to have but not very productive. It's easier for scum to lie or seem townie through setup as well because of they are the informed party and we are not. They know more about how the demonic mechanic works and could probably make a decent lie to seem townie. It's there for town to figure out and use, but not there to fully base play on.

If there are 7 or 8 demons scum auto-win tonight if the corruptor is alive. Shard Snarky/ Corrupt+Shard any Human = Victory for scum. So we should all care desperately about set up reasons because limming the corruptor is the first priority today.

I'd like other people to weigh in on the AA9 corruptor theory because if it's rock solid she needs to be the lim today. I agree CephTD is probably scum but we are in a precarious situation rn and need to act carefully.

I think there are only 6 claimed humans right now which is comforting but scum could be lying about their status so we can't be 100% sure.

Idk, maybe scum assumed Town can track who receives shards and when and don't want to be caught out not claiming to have be demonized.

I think the major question is "Why didn't scum corrupt anyone Night 1?" and thinking of all the possible answers and seeing if they are plausible. If none are, I believe ArcAngel9 is the corruptor.

I'd have to check if LLD had claimed the human/demon checker aspect of her role at that point but if so then scum know if she checks AA9 they could be in big trouble.

I’m chewing on it. I know I saw those parallels to the game Medea shared in her ISO, snd the only way I think scum her would know how to perfectly mirror 7 year old meta is if she somehow remembered it or was catering to it. I suppose there’s the old “well y’all just butt heads” argument, but it’s so similar it’s weird to think about.

I’d been mulling it through since I saw people claiming corrupted too.

It is a possibility that scum may need to become a demon to activity some powers. Again, It is only a possibility!!!

Lets assume that I am mafia, which means there is no way i would be able to give shards to myself to activate my demonic powers which means I need to depend on someone else to grant me shards which makes that people who can grant shards during the night not necessarily have to be a scum.
