I really hoped that AA9 would talk to me.

AA9's feels more like scum as time goes one. To the point that I think that she is scum.

But the repeated self votes feels like maybe she is the non-corrupter scum ?

Is it possible that we live in a Annie+AA9 world, and that is why AA9 decided self voting was better then joining the Annie wagon?

I'm tipsy enough to be brave here. AA9 just makes so much sense as corrupter to me. Corrupter didn't act Night 1 (that we know of). She was demonized Night 1. Corrupter began acting Night 2. AA9 has spent literally the whole game "misunderstanding" the set up or self-voting. She is self-voting now. It is on her if this is wrong.

I have been townreading Annie this whole game. If notty is scum here it is his best scum game of all time. I'm also comforted by the fact that ffery and Bell also town read Annie. I don't love Annie's play today but I just can't shake AA9 as a scum read anymore if she won't even help herself.

If I'm wrong I'm sorry. I hope you all don't hate me if scum quick hammers and it's their winning lim

Ok, great, it's over, you're free, and since I haven't been living under a rock for the past two weeks, I'm acutely aware of the general mood regarding the game. Honestly, all feedback is good feedback as long as it's something I can act on, so I promise everyone will have plenty of time to get the last word about everything and anything regarding things you liked, or (mostly), didn't.

But I'm going to get the first:

I sincerely appreciate everyone sticking with this, even when they were very obviously unhappy with the way the game was designed and played out. Not having to replace anyone is a really rare thing and you made the game very easy for me to run, even if hard to watch because I knew this conversation was going to have to happen postgame.

Now to the elephant in the room: This alternate wincon was a failed experiment for a number of reasons, not the least of which was that I initially designed the game for scum to want to start out using kills early game, and only resort to the alternate wincon if they weren’t able to make kills happen due to the high amount of protective roles in the game once they got activated. However, the scumteam correctly realized that they could basically blitz the alternate wincon with no regard to the primary one, and due to a lot of late stage evolutions of the setup I basically just failed to notice this. That’s entirely on me and for that I’m more than willing to apologize.

Hopefully in this light it’s a little easier to see why the initial demon target number was so low, and some roles appear fairly worthless (medea, spiffeh) and some a little questionably designed (lld) - in a game that started with nightkills, my expectation would’ve been that scum may have lost some NKs early due to town awarding shards to players that asked for it, and scum countering that either by vanillazing away roles they didn’t want to deal with it or blitzing toward the alternate condition late game. I think the bloodless role made ignoring NKs entirely way too easy.

I don’t necessarily think the scum BP role was inherently unfair (i specifically thought the comparison to my earlier mistake in the touhou game I ran was maybe a little much), and I’m a fan of anti-swing measures in general, but people hated it, and since I

am

interested in reviewing for fun, well, message received on that one.

Otherwise I’m not sure what to say -- it’s rare that I have an experience where both teams are just livid the whole time and despite being reasonably confident that this would be a nice “medium complexity mechanic” and it just ended up being a nightmare for everyone involved.

If anyone has any more targeted feedback, I’m glad to listen at this time, although I’d appreciate people assuming at the very least that I made a good faith attempt to provide a good experience and am not “trolling the players”, which is not something I’d ever do in a real forum game.
