Am I misremembering? I thought he was the one who argued that Thor was scummy for messing up mechanics. And now you're pushing back against it, but you didn't push against it yesterday.

Well, that's assuming that he's actually as bad at mechanics as he's acting. If he isn't, then he doesn't have that option, you are right.

I don't care about how bad he is or isn't at mechanics.

How else do you want to defend your behavior?

I'll put it this way, if it makes it clearer: I've seen lots of scum players use incredibly shady tactics, including (but not limited to) playing on an alt in a way that they would never get away with playing on their main, to the point where I can believe that some people (especially old ones) might try this as scum.

Whereas, I don't think I've met a single person who displayed both the amount of interest in mechanics and the amount of ineptitude with mechanics that Thor has. I've seen some people be bad at mechanics; but that's because they don't care, and they would never go to the lengths he did to make these theories.

Some thoughts from a morning skim, miserable in bed:

- I think Thor is town; this is a controversial take but previously I saw Enchant’s meta defense of Thor and liked it. This has more strength now, imo, because it felt like a more concise explanation than some of the other reads Enchant gave. I don’t know if Enchant is a strong enough scum player to give that sort of read on a scum partner even if it isn’t a home run meta read. Also, going back through some of Enchant’s games I’ve seen him make this sort of defense on a player who was town and under pressure where he basically WKs them and says “they just feel town guys!! Just town!” Even if what Thor’s doing is silly I think it’s town-silly rather than scum.

- The worst was probably killed for reads, given the fact he got Enchant + his placement in the draft makes it a coin flip if you’re going to try for that. I don’t think it’s Thor and of the three remaining (Flea, MG, MM) I’d vote the last two today because Flea’s given me townpings today. Knowing that it upset MM to be pushed for activity makes me feel bad but s: it’s a pattern and her interactions with Enchant don’t look good in retrospect. My feet are very cold on this though because I like her posting a lot and don’t want to vote her because of that on a personal level. If MM is scum I think Manatee looks worse from D1 where she didn’t vote her but I still don’t know if they’re S/S. >_>

Sure, but it's still not as useful for them as it is for town. They have to either claim cop (and justify why they haven't died) or not claim cop (in which case the ascetic can hurt because it guilties them against every PR that gets feedback if there's no roleblocker).

Sure, but town can also pick cop and claim they picked cop. And if it's not close to lylo, and they do happen to be cop, you get free cop results by leaving them alive a few days.
