Actually, zero recipients isn't lockscum. Fruit does nothing. Scum have no reason to target anyone but the nightkill with their fruit. All no fruit means is that I targeted the nightkill. It looks bad but isn't lockscum.

give your fruit to someone who isnt margotrosa since she is the only confirmed town. by doing so you either confirm them as town OR margotrosa the confirmed town survives

scum is forced to give margot a fruit since not doing so would give two fruits to others and out one of them as town.
there are multiple possibilities there.

1: nobody gets a fruit and you are lockscum
2: someone gets a feuit besides margot and that means one person between you and them is locktown
3: somebody claims to have gotten a fruit you didnt give the . if that happens they are lockscum or you are lockscum because scum wouldnt give a random person a fruit instead of margot unless to hide themselves
4: two people get fruit and one of them is locktown while the person you gave fruit to is lockscum. Alternatively one person gets two and is locktown
