Because if you are mafia then your nightkill would not take effect on that night if i were to target you. Thus being: "blocked". Although not really "blocked" as it would still take effect on the following night.

I’ve openly claimed that I will be on Gamma.
I think you should still be on Reg because even if scum decides to no-kill it gives us more chance at eliminating scum via vote. I just woke up so I didn’t do any math though.
