I’m the type of person who gives up on things when they seem lost irl, even sometimes quite prematurely, that’s how I ended up doing poorly in my second semester of full college
So for me, conceding was infinitely preferable to wasting time and energy on a lost cause

I think the only way scum could've won this game after marci slipped in 179 was to immediately bus-vote her.

If one of the three votes that came the minute after 179 was a scum bus-vote, that player would probably get fairly far into the game I guess?

Through a stroke of luck no scum was online and multiple townies were to vote and that's just how it goes sometimes ~.~

Thanks for modding Fiery, the roles/flavor were excellent.

That’s part of why I’m pissed about how this game went. Day 1 lasted literally 3 hours. Despite that because I iirc decided to sleep at a vaguely normal hour, I got fucking screwed! I don’t want to have to ruin my sleep schedule in order to stand a CHANCE in a mafia game.

um when you play a game that is probabilistic in nature sometimes you just get bad rolls dude

there's no reason to get angry about it, save yourself the stress <3

It’s not probabilistic to have someone condemn you for something that you had zero say in
y’all made a choice to rush D1 and then I ended up getting fucked for it

I'm not really sure what you're saying abt town's pov, it was a de facto win already, formalizing it didnt really change anything
I do feel bad on the mod's behalf but i'm not sure, for me at least, its a reason not to

This may be unsporting and an unpopular pov but yeah idk this is how i feel

But this only applies to unwinnable situations, i dont think this should happen in general

Ffery prepared ~6 days of flavor and got to use... probably less than two of that. That sucks.

I'm not seeing what Cabd did that was wrong this game

Also, people are forgetting that Mary and I were both voting for Bridge burners before any of the dead communication came to light. Personally, I was ready to eliminate them at that point.

As far as game balance, I'm not sure, but I don't think it ended up mattering this game, and it's not the reason scum lost. I think the associatives created day 1 were strong, and I don't think town should have to feel ashamed of having played that way this game.

From my point of view:

I went out of my way to lock in no action because I wanted to make sure my role being 'up in the air' didn't mean the game didn't end early if it needed to (it was technically possible that I could have made gamma un-voteable the next day)

This surrender was not preemptive at all and merely saved a bit of time waiting. From the pov of those playing, gamma was very probably the next elimination.

I think that the concede, when it happened, made sense to me -- and I don't hold it against any of the scum team.

It did feel a little like they came into Day 2 already practically giving up. That is my only real complaint, because I do think that they had a chance, even after Marci had got elimed day 1

aha, I wish.

No, cupcake mafia was worse. Day 1 Scum elimination, night 1 a scum got shot and the other scum submitted a shot on a bomb. All 3 scum dead before start of day 2.
could it be one of the shortest by time instead of by game phase, though?

just out of curiosity, could you elaborate on what you mean when you say marci "slipped"? do you just mean that she made a scummy post, or was there some information revealed there that she shouldn't have known? i didn't pick up on anything like that so it sort of surprised me to see the wagon go through so quickly.

Fwiw technically for me it wasnt coming into day2, at that point i was definitely in 'meh this probably isnt a win but let's see how far we can go' mode
it was a bit later than that

Ad fwiw same, after the fact it wasnt so obvious what made her obvscum in real time

I agree with this. I think that the way this game played out, would have been basically the same regardless of any combination of abilities that we might have had.

I also don't think that the dead chat stuff really mattered either -- at least for me. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical of it.

For me 179 along with seeing the previous two votes prompted me to switch my vote for pressure, this was also at a time where I was feeling a bit better about akrasia

would have been me pointint out that marci's tone looked pretty close to this as town in another game I played, but 179 felt scummy to me.

After that, when I described them as frozen, that was a bigger tell for me, and it also indicated to me that the scum team wasn't able to help marci out and they didn't know what to do.

I never thought I would get accused for sheeping when I voted 2 scum that were obvious to me from the start. The insults and attacks aren't needed it's a game of mafia this is meant for fun. Leave the insults the at door.
