i just don't think it's likely that the duel is good, especially since we know one of the duelists dues. if scum has to use their second sabotage then great. i don't think it's would be good game design to have the event be "haha you were supposed to be voting town into this but you had no real way of knowing"

idk, i think maybe the assumption of this is good/bad is... it makes voting and doing things so trivial and irrelevant to me because it feels like flipping a coin of "oh this is good so i vote here" without knowing which means everything we do not matter and unreadable because it's weighed down by this context, so i feel strange seeing you apply it because like.

if it kills me, when i flip, you have set up a defense for yourself like "oh, i thought this because setup!"

i think overthinking and trying to kill someone else based on some complicated theory about them being scum because you think their tone is sinister is an epic mistake and i have seen games where town big brain themselves out of voting do nothing scum because they want something ~fancy~, they want a ~case~, the narrative of "this person does not care about solving the game and is of the mafia alignment" is too

boring

so they big brain themselves into a complicated theory and kill a townie who is actually trying to figure things out instead

yes it's possible that we're supposed to be voting town but

the most likely outcome is that we're supposed to be voting scum, and the setup is at least designed so that we're supposed to think that we should be voting scum, so i think we should try to vote scum and if a weird twist happens then so be it

i don't think that we should let scum actions influence our thoughts about the setup

half the people on this site don't want to play scum

i don't rule anything out on the basis of it being a bad plan

i think either "i don't feel like efforting let me get voted and then we make two kills" or letting yourself get the chair and then "towning it up" when you have the thread to yourself both make sense as scum strategies

and that ultimately having control of a guaranteed kill is really not a bad plan at all, getting voted into the chair was probably a good outcome for scum

My rereading of things made it feel like you were pocketing me, with stuff like your comment about “bro you can’t quit!” kinda being one of the worst, the tone of that remark seems flat af and it reads as you wanting me around for your own ends. Further developments didn’t help what with you trying to call a heartfelt tribute to Pooky premature, it feels like you’ve passed the point of pretending to honestly engage and are starting to just go into nonsense mode. I think I agree that we should be voting two scummy people into the duel but the question in my mind is “how much accountability can we force in the duel” and the most logical answer is “probably none” so I feel like that should be factored in but idk how rn
