I'm irreparably biased, but I sympathize significantly more with peta on this one. The line where he called her gross was the overstep, but I think not engaging with the rest was the right call.
HQ, regardless of whether or not she felt it to be true, tried to get petapan to stop pushing her by claiming that talking about her play to Gammagooey was damaging her mental health. The game is one of decisionmaking, coalition building, and skepticism. It's one thing if you're being constantly insulted, but if you can't stand people making the decision to vote you out, and talking to others about it, you shouldn't be playing.
It is also ridiculously unfair that she can play that way for an advantage, intentionally or unintentionally, and then not face the consequence for it by allowing peta to state the obvious in response (that it is clearing).
That replaceout seriously damaged the game's integrity from the start, but there's no better way to handle it. My replacement was similar. I think it's wrong to frame it as "dirty if peta is scum", though, because that possibility actually
restores
some integrity to the game alignment-wise, not talking morally. You shouldn't be able to clear people for out of game spats and replaceouts like that. Peta is a shitty partner who can't work with his teammates if he's scum, but you can't say it compromises the game's integrity if it's a scum/scum spat just because it is not the town/scum one you thought you could safely assume it was.
