Famous is described as passive Superstar (Superstar usually allows you to reveal yourself)
Looked up Superstar, that's not entirely what I mean. The identity of the role's owner wouldn't be revealed at the beginning, just that it exists. Like the town is informed at the beginning of the game that there is a Famous Loyal Doctor in the game, but not who it is or what alignment it is. The same effect could technically be done by making everyone informed with that information and including in that informed role that everyone else is informed as well, but that's a rather clunky way to do it. This would just streamline the process of doing that.

I was about to mention this
because there was a theme game I played recently where I was paranoid of a vig being around and had to basically contort night actions in a way to handle that + multiple other real threats
so being able to kill the vig and negate the shot at the same time would have been neat

modifier, even if not ultimately normal, would still be useful to describe some action resolution, for instance my standard that recruitment is stopped by kills

I don't see why actions should ever be submitted in a way that makes their meaning ambiguous. Could you give me an example of what you mean?

If the list is:

  • X4
And the player was a Town Compulsive Multitasking Doctor Cop, the mod might think that the first two people are for the Doctor and Cop actions respectively even though the player might have intended otherwise.

I see now, I wasn't familiar with the normal guidelines on the compulsive modifier. That does sort of interact oddly with multitasking but at the same time if you fail to submit an action you have Fucked Up and those guidelines are only there to ensure that a non random method exists to resolve the situation as per normal guidelines. I don't think there's any reason at all to worry about what the absentee compulsive intended with the list.

Is Gutless (modified ability does not interact with kills) a new normal modifier or something? I assume no. Also Gutless Doctor would actually be useless instead of being the non-standard "doesn't work on killing roles".

I don't think so. Changes to the normal rules have traditionally been announced in this thread, and this is the first time I've heard of the modifier. It also wasn't listed on the normal game wiki page which lists all the currently whitelisted normal roles and modifiers (and can only be changed by administrators), so I went ahead and modified the wiki page accordingly.

The wiki page seems to intend for Gutless Doctor to be mostly functional, which seems like a “have your cake and eat it too” attempt, since the wording of the role’s functionality doesn’t allow for that.

Would Mediator be a good Normal role?

A Mediator targets two players, and prevents them from targeting each other the next Night and informs them that they are mediated.

important minutia - you cannot target the player you are mediated with with even a Strongman kill (or Strong-Willed action if that becomes Normal), as you are straight up not allowed to target them.
