i mean, i'm not sure i see your point in how that is scum!indicative. the tide was turning on him and he was starting to get more townread, yeah, but there were still more townread ladies that i could take, and that a bit of the game was asking me to take instead. scum!tisi would have to consciously ignore that and go for the more-controversial town!lady that also has more history with me and more knowledge of my play because...?

The only reason I thought it could be scum-indicative is because I had a hard time following why you switched to feeling good enough about him to propose to him.

Because I know you scumread him earlier, and in your proposal post you said (1) you liked his posts while you were sleeping, with no elaboration and (2) if he was scum he'd be hard pressed to keep up with you which isn't actually a reason to townread him (maybe you townread him if he accepts but I think based on his earlier posting and the pressure on him waning he was likely to accept no matter what).

So I guess can you explain how your read on him shifted between when you thought he was scum and when you proposed to him?

I think it was initially because that’s when both Titus and Norwee locktowned me. I thought it was super obvious I was already town but if they’re both scum then I was obviously very wrong about that.

I know how much you freak out internally when you're scum, I don't find it hard to imagine why scum-you might not want to be in a PT (in which you already promised you would be very active) with one of the best scumhunters of all time, even if she townread you at the moment.

To explain, generally my solving is like you see here and Imostly create townreads then PoE, now once in a while I will find something that strikes or pings me hard and pursue it intensly, make a case even. Which hasnt happened here.

What I meant with depends on how you view it was more like if you consider what I do to be solving or just skating by.

i actually remember that, the night before i proposed to gl, as i was falling asleep, i came up with the idea of "if he doesn't keep up with me in the pt, he's going to die". like, yes i fully admit it did take me some time to realize that is a thing that is possible, as up until then i was solely thinking of the pairs as a static, binary "i can read this person right now or i cannot". and that also gave me some willingness to finally pair up, since i was lowkey treating the pairing up as some sorta lylo hammer. and i realized there's no reason to be putting that kind of pressure on myself that was just making me not enjoy the game.

so, during my night he posted 1562, 1600, 1620, which were kind of what i was looking for. i know town!gl is very capable of thorough analysis, and up to that point it felt like he was kind of just hinting at it and not really *showing* it. so i liked the two read-analysis-y posts here. also, the post on why he's not pocketing me just kinda, made sense to me i guess? i often ask things like that because i feel like it's a thing i tremendously struggle to answer as scum, especially when i'm specifically pocketing someone. and while i know he's not me, i also expected there's gonna be some sorta gut feeling of "oh no" if he was bullshitting, and there wasn't. and also i decided that his play around me was townie, because yeah, i doubt he'd go from fear-killing me n1 to outright wanting a pt when i am well aware how much of a sweaty tryhard he is as town. and his reasons for townreading me also made sense so

you're right that i wasn't putting too much thought into placing myself in an endgame pairing. while i surely wanted my partner to be townread, i also knew that i'm very prone to getting paranoid, and "endgame pairing" isn't really worth anything if i'm just going to paranoia-leave last minute. so priority was to get a partner i think i can read rather than a partner that the rest of the game is townreading. your interpretation is pretty much correct, it was the point where i both (1) thought he was townie enough to propse to and (2) realized there is hope in me correcting my read if it's wrong now
