When only town chose 1 (ignoring 630) there were only 2/13 games where #1 wasn't 1st draft and was still all town. Whenever scum chose #1, there was more than 1 person that chose it. 6/8 times that #1 wasn't 1st draft, it had scum. High odds to be scum! I don't understand what's wrong with this statement

It ignores the number of people who chose it. If, for example, 5 people chose 1 and one of them was scum, then there's actually better odds of hitting scum outside of the 1's than inside them.

If you add up the total number of 1's you get 6/26 are scum which is 23%, slightly higher than the baseline of 21%. So scum have a very slight inclination toward picking 1, but it's not the big effect you're making it out to be.

Even aside from that, why weren't you pushing Datisi equally?

I mean sure, if we wanted to look at total number of 1's... I was just looking at the general trend

Doesn't "help" but the mindset is almost always town driven because scum are never going to be so bold as to suggest the idea if they believe it to be a pro-scum move, as doing so just draws negative attention to them and is unlikely to get cooperation. Way more likely to get floated by town who are trying to experiment - don't think I've ever seen scum propose it, actually. (day 1 mass is more viable in a cosed setup, in here it's pointless and bad)

Look at the motivations, not whether the suggestion is helpful/unhelpful

Can you weigh in more specifically on the fact that it was IV who suggested it? My impression of IV has been that he is in fact not the strongest mechanically, but he's got to at least have some positives in mind before suggesting it. I definitely think he is capable of doing "dumb" suggestions like that as scum hoping it will get townread for exactly that reason.
