” the artist said, contemplating his canvas. “

Perhaps,

” with an air, not of indecision but of rote, “

a splash of mauve to soften the jagged lime.

” He cut his brush across the air and sighed as color bloomed. He’d seen it before - all of it before. The ochres and the viridians, the burlywoods and the phloxes. Hues and tones to marvel the eye - but none of it was right.

What this needs,

” he murmured, watching a driblet of celadon raindrop down the canvas, “

is something new. Something bold and fresh, that no one’s seen before. Something...

” And he paused. A spark in the eye, a reflection of artistry unbound by haughty convention. A glance at his palette brought a scoff to his lips, for now he saw it so clearly - a flash of insight from the Muses themselves.

Clatter, the palette fell. Swish, the paintbrush cleaned itself in water. A new palette. A new brush. A new vision.

What this needs,

” he excited, dabbing color onto his board, “

is something new. Or... something

He cut his brush across the air and delighted as color bloomed. Three - no more, no less: a true Bouquet of Colors.

Rules

General

1. Be familiar with the sitewide rules and guidelines.
   
2. Keep flaming to a minimum. Mafia can get to be a heated game, but let's be civil about this.
   
3. Unless otherwise specified in your role PM or by me, you may not communicate about this game outside of this thread while the game is running. If someone tries to discuss the game with you outside of this thread, please let me know immediately.
   
4. Do not quote any private communication to which you have access. This includes game-related PMs, instant messages, and private threads. Quoting time stamps from any private communication is also forbidden. Paraphrasing is okay.
   
5. If it is not visible to the naked eye, do not post it. This includes, but is not limited to: invisible text, tiny text, encrypted text, and text hidden within tags. Spoiler text, however, is allowed, as long as it is used within reason. For cases of breadcrumbing where you aren't sure, please PM me beforehand.
   
6. If you have the ability to edit your posts, don't use it in my game.
   
7. Purple
   is reserved for the moderator. All other formatting is fair game with the provision that you do not impersonate me, and that it doesn't break rule 5.

Activity

1. Prods will be issued to players if they have not posted within a 48-hour period; they will have 24 hours to respond in the game thread before I search for a replacement. I will also send reminders on request as long as at least 24 hours have passed since the player's last post.
   
2. Players who have been prodded 3 times are subject to replacement without further notice. Player-requested reminders do not count toward this total.
   
3. If you anticipate being away for at least 48 hours, please PM me or post a V/LA notice in the thread with the expected date of your return.

Days, Nights, and Votes

1. Days have a maximum duration of 2 weeks (14 days). Extensions will be granted only under extenuating circumstances, such as a replacement close to deadline.
   
2. Nights have a maximum duration of 48 hours. If all living players vote unanimously to do so, night will end early.
   
3. Eliminations occur through simple majority (50% of living players + 1, rounded down). If no majority is reached at deadline, no elimination will occur.
   
4. Votes and unvotes must be bolded (e.g.,
   Vote: numberQ
   and
   Unvote
   ). Unvotes are not necessary when switching votes. Use of the vote tags (e.g., VOTE: numberQ) is optional.
   
5. No elimination may be voted for the same way normal eliminations are (e.g., VOTE: No elimination). A successful no elimination will also occur through simple majority.
   
6. Twilight phase begins as soon as 1 player (or no elimination) achieves simple majority. Any votes or unvotes after that are not counted. Twilight ends as soon as I post the day end scene. All players, including the eliminated one, may still discuss during twilight.

1. Flavor is for entertainment purposes only and has no significance in the game.
   
2. For minor questions or vote count errors, please PM me or bold your concern in the thread. For other issues, use PM.
   
3. Pretending to break the rules or exploiting loopholes in the rules will be considered breaking the rules.
   
4. Any situation not covered above will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
   
5. I reserve the right to add, modify, or remove rules as necessary. I will notify you of all changes in the thread.

Note that the setup on the wiki uses red, green, and blue colors. I've changed green to yellow so it fits the flavor a little better, and doesn't clash with the town color as much.

• Each Merlin knows who the other two Merlins are, but not their colors.
  
• If the Mafia are all eliminated, they have one more shot at winning by correctly identifying all 3 Merlins, including their colors.
  
• The Mafia have daytalk, and dead Goons may still post in the Mafia private thread.
  
• Only alignment reveals on flip, not color or role.
