yea i reread and this is accurate, you had her as scum early but you were mostly the only one, a few others had her null. then you switched her to town in 481. nobody mentioned her until 663 where luke calls her town. then i said gut scumread off one of her posts in my notes in 702. so i don't think she was ever really a popular scumread until recently

Are your TRs basically still the same from 638? Cuz that's a pretty wack set of TRs. I agree with only 2/9 of those (catboi, pooky), and those two are like the ones i'm the least confident about

I largely agree with this observation. I was kind of surprised that VP is second top poster when I opened up the activity overview, because I don't really remember their posts or recall their stances.

This kind of looks like you just testing the waters of wagons that are semi-popular and saying your fine with either.

It's also pretty silly to be like "vp isn't memorable!" when your ability to remember things I've said and my positions is not my problem. Have better reading retention. I also don't know a thing you've done this game, but that's not an actual reason alone to scum read a person because I could say that about lots of players in a large game.

You may think my questions are pointless, but they aren't to me and how I'm feeling people out, which is all I care about.

Sure I don't have a read on Andres or The Bulge or other people, but they've barely posted or haven't posted enough for me to feel strongly one way or another

the difference with you is that you've posted a lot, but somehow your posts haven't stood out unlike the other active posters. My reading retention isn't the problem if I can remember other active posters.

Because you're basically regurgitating things he said, so not sure why you would do that unless you're town reading him.

As far as being memorable, again, that's not my problem? I post a lot because I hate walls and I like to have live interactions with people/document things in thread i might forget later. If you can't remember what I've said, read my iso. Your subjective ability to remember the game has nothing to do with my alignment.

ive been reading some morning tweet games and learned not much bc she replaces into games a lot and so i don't have many day 1s to compare to. i think i can buy that she can be a little less assertive early as maf. but i can also buy that she genuinely feels like she is stronger later in the game and isn't very enthused about the start of a large

so based on meta this looks well in her scumrange but not outside her townrange either. which means we can look at play instead, yay! and the play looks kinda scummy imo

i am. i just like to explore both possibilities to think about what the alternative could be if im wrong. which i guess you could argue is kinda like hedging! so to be more specific, i don't think it's hedgey exactly, i think the way that she went about it (specifically talking about 487 here, but i think similar ideas extend to other posts as well) didn't really read as if she was trying to solve the slot for herself, it felt more perfomative, like she knew it was a major topic of conversation that she needed to comment on but didn't really want to commit to either side. the evidence that she gave ("deflated", "I like the approach", "disconnected") seems more like it's aimed at appeasing other members in the game as opposed to evidence that one would actually use to sort. lion talked about this a bit earlier as well, saying something like that scum luke wouldn't be scared at all by that kind of post, and i think that's similar to how I feel about it.

This type of thinking is responsible for a large amount of bad reads in mafia games.

i would strive to read players for the way they think rather than the way you do, because you're quickly going to realize no one thinks quite like you do

It's pretty normal for me, there is no correlation I have noticed between people hounding on me D1 and their alignment

the read itself is more important than it simply happening. i like the angle. At least, I think fire is saying I'm scum watching town sink and being noncommital about it. It's not an unreasonable read and it was well thought out after u prompted more from them

Now at risk of arguing against myself, why'd you switch from scumreading me to townreading me midway? i personally haven't noticed a change yet

i also don't think catboi is doing no solving and didn't say i was TRing him for that. i just don't think he's sharing all of his solving with the thread, and just commenting on something when he feels it's worth doing. maybe he does that as scum sometimes too but in this case at least i feel towny vibes. he was also more outwardly pushing people earlier, like with luke, and that felt towny to me too

I really like this too, although I disagree with townreading catboi for that. It's reasoning that feels genuine to me but not something i find swaying
