I kinda wish I was playing the scumgame you think I am. Talking more than almost anyone, manipulating everyone's read and the entire gamestate to my liking, leaving BOTH my scum partner and myself out of the coalition just KNOWING it'll get me so widely townread I end up in the coalition even though one player is tunneling me

as scum he has fine read progressions and etc and still can joke around and whatnot but he lacks that town energy.

he seems content to be a background character and pop up occasionally with a Good Post,

and yet not really drive things. when i read posts that he

makes as scum i picture him making a face and being like "ugh do i have to do this

".

i can understand this read/this approach to reading him, except this game i feel exactly the bolded and don't feel the italics

I'm very much intentionally channeling players like RC, Shoshin, the worst... players whose play I think is really good at rooting out scum, but who also got/get scumread all the time for it because it's not easy to follow.

maybe our lovely quackup mod has changed since you were last around, but i don't think i have ever even considered scumreading a post of his. the one time i did i felt immediately guilty for it. they are too pure

oh he only ends up in extremes. Everyone loves and townreads him all game long, regardless of his alignment, or everyone thinks he's too towny and quirky!! and must be scum!!! (something I relate to)

I think players felt this way about him in multiple recent micros I read, actually. But I digress

tbf i don't think this is crazy - even if you leave yourself out of it now:
- there's enuf people townreading u that u might get it anyways
- approaching deadline you could very easily be like 'uuuuuhhhhh we need a coalition and a lot of people are healing me so i'll add myself'

it's not like you have no chance of getting in it

i know this is slightly tongue in cheek but i don't think you really would have had much choice in the matter, you were solidly in the coalition and if you like doubled down on that and were like "no im not leaving" i think it would just make you look worse

and you probably, in this hypothetical world, would have expected that the townreads people have on you and scumreads people have on me would have meant that my tunnel would have largely been disregarded

but i'm getting Good Vibes rn at least

and i think i townerad him more than i townread a lot of other people here

man this deadline is kinda short

i'd ideally probably want some more time to ruminate but given that we're running low on time given everything we need to do i'm leaning towards me/dats/irrel/std/mena
idk who i'd even go after if that fails tho

wrt ari: i'm feeling very wary of her, both for the early game + generally her scumgame is scary + i haven't seen anything that i think is out of her range / makes me strongly think town
and i'm probably going to get to a faster/more comfortable townread on dats than ari in this timeframe

well earlier he was doing more and now he's doing not as much but that doesn't like really change how I felt about him earlier?

I dun see why scum!him would heal you in response to me expressing suspicion of you on p1 and then try to get me to include you in a coalition it just feels counterintuitive to me.

I know it's not what you said but I'm getting really frustrated. Every time I do something I think is helpful to town someone is scumreading me for it! And then I say "no that's not scummy, it's towny" and I get scumread by fire for arguing that I'm towny. And then I think "okay well as someone who's aware I have a wide scumrange I'll try to find a coalition that doesn't include me. Some townie has to sit out, why not me" and then you and fire argue that that's just as likely to be a thing scum-me does as town-me

I get that some people are townreading me so maybe I'm just out of practice at shrugging off bad scumreads but I'm getting increasingly annoyed, especially because I'm not even sure fire is scum who's doing it
In fact with how few people are listening to him I'm pretty sure he's not scum, he's gaining like, nothing from this right now
well I guess it's getting me and skitter to townread him but I don't see how he could have foreseen that
