It's true that town can pick high numbers as well, and we know at least one player did. The reason I'm suspicious of the high numbers is because there's way more of them than usual. Since town pick individually and scum co ordinate, an anomaly like this is likely to be caused by scum, at least in part - you wouldn't expect town choices to be too different in any given game, whereas scum choices are dependent on their strategy. Combine that with Ari bringing up the idea that we should make the assumption of zero or possibly one scum in the high numbers and I think it's reasonable to be suspicious of her.

2. counter to their win condition by making their picks stand out and look weird

the fact that people think this is a reasonable strategy for a scum team to do and rely on the town colliding for pick priority is kind of silly and nonsensical to me.

i think it's not like scum 100% picked high numbers but the fact that we have high numbers suggests the possibility that scum played with high numbers

i think it likely that 1 or 2 of the high numbers are scum but i want to analyze dayplay to determine who is scummy and then look afterwards and be like "oh, i guess they did/didn't do that"

and then most people don't do _____ because they'd rather give a joke answer, they'd rather say they can't come up with the answer, they'd say if they were scum they wouldn't do it, they think its busywork, insert random excuse why picking 3 numbers is unreasonable for me to ask them to do.

then it would be somewhat pointless for me to explain how I get from ______ to "catching scum" because it would be explaining my thought process for scum to play around,

i was being honest, i wouldn't pick the numbers unless i was forced to and even then i'd probably just pick randomly so if you want 3 random numbers i can give them to you but i don't know how that helps or not especially since they'd be inspired by this draft in some way either by me picking 80085 and 999999999999999999999999999999 because i think they're funny or avoiding those numbers because they appeared in the draft.

RQS refers to asking questions to everyone that are "random" in nature and appear symmetric to the answers.

The implication he is making is that I was never interested in the information in the first place because I gave up pursuing it after being told "no" by enough people. It's gross because it presumes that town!me is an asshole who wants to force everyone to do exactly what she says and won't shut up until she gets her way.

My question is when exactly has he actually seen me do that as town early in the game to make such a characterization of me.

the thing that baffles me is the negative response and refusal to provide results as a reaction to people not giving proper answers
I don't see it as a directly scum-indicative reaction rn but it's a bit of a sign she hasn't really attempted anything like it before

I inferred from HEM's post that he isn't calling you an asshole, but if he thought this information was alignment relevant he would pursue it, and is therefore confused why you're choosing not to? Which makes it seem like a difference in playstyle more than anything

i became wary of my read on her because it felt a lot like what happened to us when i tunneled her apparently (i did not) and our conversations are adversarial. but then i immediately feel wrong about how she paints me as some sort of an asshole unfairly, and it feels to me like a discredit. although, she isn't calling me scum about it either so i dont know why it wouldn't make her stop and question if there's a chance im town and there's validity in my observation. like i said, i'm even willing to help her get her experiment going but she's still uninterested because she chose to engage me in this way.
