i feel zero pressure to be read correctly by you. i don't think you're town here, and i trust 1) actual town to get me right; 2) myself to react to a gamestate where i need to be easier to read. my priority here is to sort other slots. my answering that question explicitly signals to pav what i'm looking for in a response and disallows me to use that line of enquiry to sort a slot i'm not confident on (pav).

i kind of feel like the basis of this conversation is that if i don't play a specific way, i am not a good person, and that's a hard premise to engage with. i also don't think your question was town motivated ("sincerity" or whatever is kind of moot in the middle of a social deception game). i'm fine leaving this as an impasse, would you be ok chatting about it post-game?

like this game is actually very simple

(1) there are massive disincentives towards bussing because you can't actually bus-spew yourself clear due to the clear-mechanism on D1/D2.

so scum have the incentive to hardshield their teammates from being elimmed on d1/d2 because they can't ever take advantage of bussing a teammate really.

Therefore it is important to make the consequences of hard-shielding as dire as possible for a scum player.

Hence why I believe we should policy elim anyone who derails a scum wagon on d1/d2 - which we will know as soon as the derailed scum flip.

Since there is no way for scum to escape together, one of them must remain behind while one of them escapes, there is literally no way for scum to get away with hard-derailing a elim on a scum partner because we will policy them immediately upon escape.

True to a point. We need to a) give town players the confidence to be wrong and b) encourage people to work as a team. If we auto eliminate anyone who defends a wagon, getting a wagon going will be torturous as no one will move off their pet wagon for fear of being miseliminated.
