I thought the way ari was interacting with the gamma wagon was prototypical of her scumgame if gamma was town
She even agreed with me that she was 'vibing and getting thread influence via vibing', which is how she would approach this as scum, ajd she thinks that the way i was worried abt this is town-indicative for me

My point was mostly that it was part of a pattern. I was providing context here for the analysis points that I made later in the thread. I found it strange how you questioned Ari on her Gamma read, and then attacked her shortly after for a point about thread control that was tangentially but not directly related. I felt at the time that this was a way of chainsawing for gamma while not making it about gamma, but to be honest, I'm not as confident in that anymore.

I do think that some of your posts in the later interaction with Ari, such as 1161 are scummy because it feels like you are saying that Ari

isn't allowed

to vote Gamma unless she has a strong case. It's a standard that you aren't holding most people to, so it feels selective and intentionally chosen.

I mean, i'm not sure why you're reading this as 'punishing players and dismantling credibility' vs 'discussing reads, particularly ones i disagree with'. The former is scum-indicative, but i dont think the latter is, and i'm not sire why you're ascribing the former motivations to me when that's not what i'm doing and not really how i play

Because for the most part it doesn't feel like a discussion. I'm not sure how calling Titus' reads weird is starting a discussion. And I think in some places, like I mentioned above with 1161, your focus seems to be primarily on the read and not on why that makes the person more likely to be scum.

I also object to the notion that i'm 'not hunting scum, and that my primary focus is on people's reads and why they shouldnt be having them'
- i have like 8 billion scumreads, and townread very few people
- i cant work through all of them at once, but i have been sharing my suspicions as i have them
- this makes me wary of several of the popular wagons, because i'm p sure that not all of the people who are widely scumread as scum, and idk how to pick the right wagon rn
- trying to understand people's reads: well i need to sort them too, ajd this is mafia, idk what else to talk about and how to do that? Not sure what else i should be focusing on
- and yeah if i think reads are wrong i'll say that. What should i be doing instead?

My issue came from how it didn't feel to me like your goal was understanding people's reads. It felt targeted. Originally I thought that it meant you were defending Gamma as a partner. I'm starting to think that's less likely, but it's still possible, and I think there's still potential scum motivation for taking the action that you have.

You've realized by now that it was Meuh, but to answer that question, I'm not sure how meaningful it is. My read of things is that if skitter is scum, most likely Meuh is town and kind of pocketed by her. If skitter isn't scum, then Meuh could be, and it may be that she didn't intend to stay on Pav for long. A move onto Ugly Fruit is strange, and feels like an olive branch to Gamma, which could have either town or scum motivation. My heart reads it as town, but I'm not sure.

yes i dont wanna play this "boost someones ego by letting only them choose the vote" game, if i wanted to play a game like that i wouldve signed up for a game like that.

I don't think this is the case at all. We're running into an issue where conventional voting is unlikely to get results due to a combination of high percentage of scum and also a few people not really participating, some of which have to be town.

The proposed alternative isn't about ego at all, it's about a different approach because the old one is unlikely to catch scum. Making people commit to who they want to appoint as town leader adds information and associative, and it's almost guaranteed that we will end up with town being chosen unless everyone's reads are just wrong.

The idea is that one elected player, regardless of who it is, is more likely to succeed at picking out the scum than our collective, which is currently struggling to move anywhere. You can disagree with that idea if you like, and give reasons, but I don't think you should dismiss it as being about ego.

it might not be something we notice right away, but since they need to flip 2 of themselves in order to win, we can go back and see how they handled it

i mean, yeah, it was. it was ari-specific scumread (which i think is relatively clear from context) - at the time, i thought the way that ari was allowing marci to lead the wagon (while not even having a strong read on gamma) was scummy, for ari in particular, in that she was allowing a probable misflip to happen while keeping her hands clean

as above, the fact that ari didn't seem to have a strong scumread on gamma is why i thought it was scummy. so i was tryign to understand the read to see if i was missing something
like if gamma is town

she probably doesn't have a real read on him
but scum-her would be very happy to let marci misflip gamma
