Hey, can you talk to me a little more about scamper, gamma and STD? I read a few posts I thought were town!gamma but I can never read STD.

Crescent is just obv!town.

I am reading (mostly), I just don't have a huge amount of internet access. I read through the corwin thing and it looked scummy af but the wagon on him is shockingly fast and its ridiculous people are being baited into rushing it further. (By people I mean Marci).

I'm not as sure as I was that Marci is scum. I think a few people's issues are a playstyle thing, reading back a lot of their content in iso.

If anyone could throw a few questions at me about any stand out posts, etc, that'd be ace.

Scamper comes across as obvious town to me - they make good and reasonable posts with genuine feeling reasoning behind it. I never feel like I can't see their town perspective or thought process behind their posts. If they were scum I think they would have to be an alt of an extremely skilled scum player.

I thought Gamma was a wolf earlier but a lot of his recent posts feel townier, like he genuinely cares about the lines of enquiry he's pushing I guess. This is probably his towngame on balance.

STD has been meh all game, I think I talked about it earlier but I didn't like that post with the four meh pushes. The datisi read especially came off as underwhelming.

Marci gets pushed, seems to completely crumble under pressure, insists she's sure Dats is scum, and then turns around and says 'oh Dats you're so silly tunneling me here! btw I'm going to go lurk now for Better Reads or whatever'

This. The crumbling under pressure part was her argument with Datisi where she tried to argue she wasn't scumreading him for being absent and ended up abandoning her position and being like "I don't even know what I'm saying I just scumread datisi"

It's not a question but I think this outlines pretty well the stuff Marci's done that I think is most scummy without being too long? The response to Datisi and progression and Datisi from her are both horrible and I don't feel like she's genuinely hunting / gamesolving at all.

STD is someone who would remain in the fringes of my POE with a Corwin/Alex team. I feel like he's overall contributed very little. I'm the only one he's actually made any argument on, and his argument sucked. Though, it was bad enough that I kinda feel like scum wouldn't have pushed on me so poorly, especially after seeing Shoshin practically bounce off of me earlier with way more effort. Shoshin's alignment is irrelevant to this point.

Now for other better situational reads:

Alex's bad vote on Bella and Corwin buddying Bella probably combine to Bella being town if those two are scum.

The reason Johnny wouldn't stay in my POE is he's been after Alex basically all day. He's tunneled on Alex since before Alex ever had pressure. I also don't think he feels any reason to make a post that effectively defends Corwin but shades Alex when Corwin is at 5. Alex also unnecessarily votes him instead of Corwin. I could see one of Alex and JF being scum, but both feels like a tough sell.

Alex has gone beyond the point where it would feel like a bus with Marci. The combination of their behaviors, combined with Marci actually making a "case" of sorts with Corwin would lead me to say that Marci is probably town.

This is just operating off memory on my phone though. I'm not in a position to go deeper atm.

Oh and Scamper is virtual locktown with a Corwin red flip of course.

so I'd prefer if you would bear with the corwin vote-out, if corwin flips town I'll reconsider my marci TR

If we're saying scum don't earnestly push each other in games the meta must have changed significantly since I left but I recall several games where the mafia pushed mafia more than town did, especially on day 1

It's more than that to me. He's trying to make up reasons that don't exist to suspect her on a red Corwin flip.

why would he not try to push somewhere else? Plus he comes off as trying to subtly manipulate people into acting on their marci suspicions, that doesn't make sense as an approach to bussing!

Because even if they lim town on day 1 they get PoEd and lose. If he hard pushes Marci he tries to create distance between them to escape the POE.

I will never understand the idea people have that scum wouldn't bus unless they 'have to' when time and time again scum consistently bus and vote each other all the time

I know this doesn’t help my case but I do love busing early, I’m pretty sure I bused my pal in the majority of my scum games here, often to my detriment. Feel free to look at my old games if you want meta. I’m aware this probably does me no favours and from other town perspectives this is pure WIFOM.

Honestly at the moment I do think there’s prooooobably scum between Corwin/Marci. They aren’t necessarily scum together but one flipping red doesn’t discount the other one which is why it’s a tricky spot. As I said before I am paranoid about the sudden exodus to Corwin. But his immediate town read of Crescent following the outcome of our last mini does feel very much not genuine.
