Honestly this? It's silly, it made Me laugh and it vibes with where I was at the time? They also seem to be sounding a bunch of people out and feel confident in a way that seems townie.

I can see the ceph thing but think their first interactions with you/rad was weak. Pp I'm not convinced on.

Also, frog, if you don’t think you have sharp edges I have a bridge to sell you.

Okay I see how town!Galron can be motivated to make those posts. I think the interaction is still a scum tell from Galron because I've seen scum choose to take that approach more often than random chance would indicate, especially from lurker scum slots.

I'm told Luke's scum game is scary but equally he's had some good takes. I think he's probably a net positive on the game state.

My opinion on the Hydra posting restriction, is that if it is real he is likely in a neighborhood with Sun.

That would give the slot an outlet to talk as much as they waty, and a way to keep communicating after they have run out of words (Jin getting Sun to "translate" for him). We also know that there is at least 2 claimed neighborhoods at this point. Could be with Toog, or could be a 3rd hood.

That being said, I don't really have strong feelings about whether the PR restriction being town or scum indicative. I feel like, if it is real, STD had the idea as a way to represent Jin's flavor of struggling to communicate early on in the show before he learned english, and it likely would have been an idea before he randed the flavor alignments.

I gave the caveat of "I might be metagaming" for a reason. I brought it up because in my opinion, they have applied the post restriction inconsistently, making me think it's actually fake.

I feel like there could be one scum in Galron/Frog from their argument.

While I don't agree with T-Bone's view re the faked restriction, I think he's town for suggesting it. Seems like a theory unlikely to come from scum.

If signatures don't count, why not use them every post? In the very few posts you've made I don't feel like you've been either careful with your words or consistent in your application. It looks like to me you're making it up on the fly (or that you and your partner didn't agree how to fake the restriction).

I'm skeptical for other reasons that I'll discuss with the other players, but we can start there.

Look, I am aware that if the restriction is real I risk wasting your word counts or whatever, and you're limited in your ability to explain... but how everyone else reacted is exactly how you would want if you were faking a restriction. Sorry, thems the breaks.

If they were going to fake a restriction though, wouldn't you expect them to be doubly sure how they were going to go about it before committing? It strikes me as an especially convoluted and weird thing for a hydra to make up in particular on D1, when coordinating a hydra can be a difficult job anyway, especially if said hydra is scum. And given the size of the game, being able to successfully coast through D1 could be of limited advantage anyway considering there'll likely be lots of phases.

The mistakes are the reason I decided to call attention to it. I was suspicious when I first saw it but wasn't gonna bring it up right away. Maybe I should have let them make a few more mistakes before I said anything but that's on me.

If you find yourself asking why would (player) do (thing) if they were scum...then my friend you are the gullible target audience.

True. Not invited to the opinion party, but I don’t see much benefit to questioning chat restrictions. I reflexively challenge them and ultimately I’ve never gotten anything positive out of it.

This actually seems like a good idea unless I'm missing something.

I suppose the only concern is they could still be a scum slot, of course, since the word count limit isn't necessarily alignment indicative, and it allows them to coast through the rest of the day without having to produce any content. But I think the net positives from verifying they're not lying (even though I don't think they are) might outweigh the negatives of them being silent for the rest of D1, especially since they can't exactly say much with 100 words anyway.
