It's different because it was based on a misunderstanding of their role rather than a sort of grandstanding about how other people should read them. They claim they thought they were a mason and gave an explanation.

Now that I write that out though, that seems shaky. The role pm they received would not have said they were cleared.

Looking back at the neighbor portion of my role pm, I actually find it odd to come to the conclusion that it would mean you were masons if his wording was the same.

I actually just went back to see exactly what Toog said

I have not read anything other than my PT. I actually didn't consider the possibility that my partner might consider us unaligned. Based on my show knowledge, I actually would have thought us Masons if my PM didn't specifically call us neighbors.

My role is Shannon, my partner is Boone.

And I realized that maybe he was thinking flavor matched alignment? Because the mod confirmed the Flavor of my neighbor.

So, if he thought that the mafia would be the show's villians, being told that Bell was Boone might have come across that way maybe?

This is a bit goofy but I can see them looking at their role, seeing that they knew another player's flavor, and jumping to conclusions as something plausible

My PT partner brought up the fact that they don't trust me, that I could be scum, and that I basically asked for a free pass through Day 1.

I think that this post feels a bit more likely to have been posted as town than as mafia. If they were mafia, then this post means they were making it their goal to try to get townread for this post, and I personally believe that this is a bit of a weird angle for mafia to take, and also a bit risky.

Yeah. Basically my thoughts.

It never crossed my mind to consider my neighbor confirmed. But I also read the Flavor =/= alignment rule during sign ups.

So, I guess it is plausible that someone who did not read that before the role pm might go there.
