@thestatusquo I am a new player. I'm not asking to be seen as townie for it as I do have experience with social deduction games but I would prefer if you respect the fact that I am new regardless because... what you're saying is coming across as quite offensive when I'm only trying to figure things out. Maybe I seem dumb but subbing into a game for the first time in so many pages as my first game ever isn't exactly easy.

How long have you thought each person on that list could be scum?

I only came to full-on scumread Marci recently

I’ll get into the other reads later but for Marci specifically I think according to her own self-meta, she’s playing as I’d predict she would as scum. Her rudeness (she self-describes her play as sometimes rude so I don’t feel there’s a problem saying this) in parts feels a fair bit off-kilter.

but you suggested that there were 5 scum earlier so why is your team guess only 3? I know you'll point to your 3rd sentence but I still find it odd that your guess was only 3 hard reads and not 5. I'm not really sure why Dats and Frog weren't included in your guess or why relly leap frogged them.

And I have to say...I find your day one play there completely different in a lot of different ways. And the most obvious one is that you DO seem invested in finding scum and flipping someone you're suspicious of. You DO seem invested in engaging with people about their reads. You DO feel like you're trying to scum hunt.

Now, its a team mafia game so everyone amps up their tryhard a little bit for those games so I don't think its like definitive or anything, but its the game YOU brought up as the one where I should remember as you playing like you're playing here as town is normal.

And its simply not. It's not remotely the same. It's not even close.

On Gamma, I agree that my experience with him is much more emotion as town. My reservation there is that I had literally just called Gamma out about that right before the outburst, so seems like it could be fake.

I could see this. I would add the level of emotion actually feels kind of dead to me and given how much pressure they've been under at times, I feel like I'd expect more reactionary lashing out from a town!gamma.

there could be other Gamma stuff but I got tired of looking at VP's ISO. A post like 2328 always makes me think of the "vote town, bus buddy" strat. He calls him sorta scummy in his last two posts which you could maybe argue makes him less likely to be scum but I think its...null?

My intuition is that an experienced player like VPB would be aware of this trope and wouldn't be inclined to go for it as a direct response to being told to vote a buddy.

Then again, if he wasn't set up to townread buddy-Gamma and he felt it wasn't strategically sound to bus there, I'm not sure what else he could have done.

I skimmed among us where I modded you too and you are extremely invested in that game day one as well but not really in the sense that you're trying to find scum, although I still see way more prods at people than I see here, but that game you were heavily invested in a mech solve component so I don't think its a really good case study, just wanted to say I looked at it too for completeness.
