Sorry for not accepting you green - the overriding factor for me was that it was very clear for me who you were and I'm really not very good at hiding who I am so if I paired with you - we would've been a very easy kill for the scum to make.

my read of the gamestate on replace in is that I think both scum were already paired by the time I replaced in because it didn't feel like there was a lot of interest in deciding who the elimination was or who got paired among the final five - it felt like the game was somewhat stagnant by that point and people were just ok with sleepwalking through this part of the game despite it being really the most exciting part.

I think the over-eagerness to defend themselves rather than focus on who should be eliminated feels like a scum reaction from Cyan.

When I asked Olive multiple times who Olive wanted to be eliminated from the final three, Olive didn't really have a response or an opinion and I find that very troubling.

I didn't like how teal played the EOD at first because it felt like teal didn't really care much who he took along with him and didn't really express a lot of reads but I've had some time to think it over and I feel like it leans towards a town mindset;

I think it feels somewhat unlikely for scum!teal to decide to offer to town!green and scum!magenta at the same time? Like if Green accepts there it's not like Teal would get very much cred off the bus and he's putting his teammate at risk for really not very much gain?

I don't think either of Teal or Magenta really tried very hard to get paired at any point throughout the game and I don't really understand their team strategy if they are a scum team together.


If you take a look at the offer from a strategic standpoint; Teal offering to Green/Magenta subordinates him to both Green/Magenta - what I mean by this is that Green/Magenta can both decide to pair with each other rather than Teal by force almost.

For example if Green wants to pair with Magenta, Green could simply post "Hi I want to pair with Magenta, I had the opportunity to accept Green but I'm not going to take it" at this point Magenta would owe their life to Green and be somewhat obligated to take it? Similarly this would work in reverse.

In a game like this I feel like it is giving up a lot of power to offer both players.

I know it could be true that Teal is just mafia who didn't think very deeply and is just playing haphazardly but my gut tells me this is not the case.

This is an interesting observation because I did get this vibe to some extent specifically from Purple, because they'd been so involved early on and that involvement tapered off so sharply. I didn't opt to comment on it because their one recent post was to some extent involvement (telling you to pair with me) but moreso because I myself had a kernel of ennui of just wanting to wait for the phase to be over so I could see one of my scumpool-of-three flip and then get on with voting the other two, and I recognized that maybe Purple felt something similar. I am more curious to their take on the new gamestate than anyone else's, given their early posturing - it seemed like they were the kind of player who wanted to control the thread from early on, and their letting that go was somewhat unexpected.

I think it's fair that they're unlikely to both be scum. It would be far too easy an answer and would require scum almost having given up before the game really started.

However. I still think there is good scum equity in the pair. I think your points on Teal have some merit but I think particularly since they were ill and forced to be absent from part of the proceedings, their pairing with both other players is sensible from scum who does not have time to regain their composure. If you were scum and in the situation of having been absent during most pair formation, it's certainly the practical choice to simply get into a pair at all costs, and offering to both others is one way to do that. It can also be self-preservation as town, of course, but I don't think it's enough to give them a free pass.

Magenta's trajectory on me is troubling; they seemingly tried to start something against me and then abandoned it (or at least, let up on the gas) when they couldn't find purchase. 171 in particular is troubling in this way, because it feels like walking back an attempt to throw shade on a widely-townread slot. They'd acknowledged their opinion on me might not be popular, which is fine, but the way in which they toned down their opinion feels like scum who does not want to rock the boat too hard. Their posting about Purple and their overall attempt to PoE things/their insistence on them finding townreads easier to acquire is alright, but I don't think it'd be particularly hard to fake.

I am sorry for calling purple a turkey slimeball muffin. They obviously are not. I will refrain from such heinous language in the future.

My mindset for choosing both players at first was based on not having been caught up in the thread and wanting to get into a pair; I didn't really want me being sick to be the reason I got eliminated. If people thought I was suspicious, fine.

I know it to be because I am town but I could easily see someone correctly identifying this action as NAI.

I'm still unsure of suspects especially since towards the end when I looked at green and magenta I convinced myself green was a baddie. Someone do something super suspicious so I can scumread it, thanks in advance.

A great question. If I'm correct, then it becomes twice as easy to answer once I know which one of Teal/Magenta are scum, as I'd only need to think about half as many pairings.

Our PT hasn't had much engagement as of yet but I expect that to change. Olive, I'd quite like to hear from Purple - they haven't spoken in even longer than Magenta, and haven't said anything of substance in much longer. You say they're engaging in your PT. Is there a reason they aren't engaging in the thread?

I think Magenta is really town. Will need to reread Teal, Cyan, Yellow.

My theory is that Purple switched their read based on their identity read on me and I think them pairing with me reads town indicative to me, because if intruder, why don’t they want me paired with someone else since intruders want to nk invitees that are relatively easy for them to guess.

I was wondering if this is what happened. Teal and cyan are my current guesses. I'm influenced by the stronger halves of red and blue's solutions. I also am influenced by olive's invitee read on magenta.
