The question you should have asked yourself: If Glork was town, why did scum never nightkill or roleblock him? (Also, there were various things that made it clear that he wasn't following the thread as closely as he might have been if he was town: for example the fact that he felt the need to ask JDodge why he didn't use his role yesterday after that had already been discussed. And Glork's pushing of Porochaz was filled with suck.)
Also, the Oman lynch was stupid. He was obviously protown after his comments in the night 1 twilight, as I repeatedly said. Granted, Oman should have claimed the moment after mneme claimed given that his role clearly was related to mneme's. But Oman shouldn't have been lynched ever.I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.- destructor

Eh, I didn't want to lynch tss/Glork based on that. Isn't that burden of proficiency? Is Glork (or his successor) being alive at endgamereallyproof that he's scum? Also, I looked at his partial claim from Day 1 and he specifically said that DBG couldn't have had an incriminating result on him. He was obviously lying, since he submitted the kill, but it made me think that he had targeted someone other than Khel. His distancing from Zoneace and Gage really helped. I wish I'd just sorted my gut read out earlier. =/
I was never convinced by the twilight comments things and I only really wanted to lynch Oman because there might have been two scum left and I was too insecure about choosing between skruff or tss. All in all, there was way too much going on in my head..::][:::::][:::::][:::::][::.- Foolster41

Good game scum.
I still maintain that a lot of the arguments made against me by Drunken Piper were bad ones. I'm not trying to beat up on you DP, I know what it's like to be new (Present tense, I'm still incredibly new and make lots of flubs as both town and scum.) but I'm hoping you want to improve and now the game's over we can talk about it (if you'd rather over PM that's fine.)Winner of the "if real life was like mafia" thread. :D

Just not being killed once might be burden of proficiency (although that typically falls under "X usually finds scum, but he didn't find scum this game, so he's scum"), but not being killed or roleblocked 5 times each, when the alternatives kills/roleblocks were people who looked scummy or stupid or both? At some point it stops being coincidence and starts being scummy.destructor wrote:Eh, I didn't want to lynch tss/Glork based on that. Isn't that burden of proficiency? Any argument for Oman being scum had to explain why Oman would make those comments as scum, when they would make him look bad (the natural presumption is that as scum, he would say nothing.) As town, he'd make those arguments because he actually thought the lynch had gone poorly.I was never convinced by the twilight comments things and I only really wanted to lynch Oman because there might have been two scum left and I was too insecure about choosing between skruff or tss. All in all, there was way too much going on in my head.
Yes, there could be WIFOM, but Oman isn't a clever enough player to do that sort of WIFOM play routinely as scum.I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.- The Fonz

He was bluffing. And, fairly obviously, Glork was implying powerrole there. How GLORK of all people, intimates on day one that he has a power role, and survives till endgame and no-one finds it suspicious, is frankly amazing.destructor wrote:Eh, I didn't want to lynch tss/Glork based on that. Oh, one thing that might be of interest to everyone: this is what the motivator and demovativator would have done.
Name-------------------Motivating Effect----------Demotivating Effect
S. Adams, RDD--------Mafia kill is unblockable--Loses ability for one night
Scott Adams, SL-------+3 to lynch-------------- -1 to lynch
Weasel Girl--------------2 rolebockes------------Roleblocked
Airline Weasel-----------Send a 25 word message to target----Roleblocked
Consumer Weasel------Doesn't roleblock target------Gets caught, dies
Home Repair Weasel----Can spy on 2 people-------Gets caught, can only post 25 words per post
One bizzare turning point of the game: Oman tried to motivate Gorrad, the Airline Weasel (jailkeeper), on the night Gorrad jailkept Undo and thus stopped him from killing, and caught him. The only reason Oman's ability didn't work (and I told him it wouldn't) was because Oman sent it to me right after the lynch, in twilight; when his role specificed it had to be in before the lynch in order to work. If it had gone the other way, Gorrad would have "protected but not roleblocked" Undo and wouldn't have known it; the kill would have work, and Gorrad would have assumed Undo couldn't have made the kill. Also, if there had been one more death, it would have been almost impossible for the town to get the number of votes needed to lynch Undo; because of the lynch rules Iammars set down, everyone in the town would have had to vote him, and then keep their votes on him until deadline, where it would have been (just) enough with 25% of the town voting + 2 more votes.
Basically, town would most likely have lost on the spot, except Oman, a pro-town player, just barely didn't get his move in in time for it to be counted.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie- Niv

Niv: you were in good company. Oman should have backed my flavor/mechanics up, not decided that my role being his opposite meant I was scum. And I should have done a single claim, rather than claiming night actions, then role, then mechanic (though frankly, I do think that partial claims are much better for town than full claims in closed info games. Why tell the scum how all the abilities work rather than just what's needed for a lynch?). And, of course, Glork should have been lynched before endgame -- he defended -two- scum by day 2!Did I say too much?-

When Skruffs explained that there was a night missing to ruin my claim, I nearly had a heart attack. If destructor had pressed me on that I think I might have been exposed. Until then I thought he was quibbling over whether Night 1 was formally called Night 0, which seemed silly to me.
I really wasn't trying to get Foolster to vote Oman, though I obviously wasn't about to try talking him out of it. I was happy as long as he didn't lynch me. I was completely mystified by Skruffs's theory but relieved to have something I could attack as wrongheaded.
I voted Oman because it seemed so obviously testable that not testing it would make me look too scummy to live. I'd have done the same if he had claimed originally. I killed Foolster because I didn't want to punt the final lynch totally -- I wanted to make my vote matter -- though I do wonder who he would have killed if I had left it up to him (and killed probably Skruffs, since destructor suspected me going into night).I think it's pretty clear that TSS's awesomeness did alter the roles each of us recieved, and thus he's obviously pro-town. -- Save The Dragons- Niv

you know, does this game rank as the longest game on the site, or close, it went for 1 year and 3 days? It's never too late to dig yourself out of a hole with the truth, unless you've been investigated as scum. I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened yet. So get to work helping us track down your fellow dirtbags! ~ MBL- Bookitty

I really enjoyed this game. I would never have voted for Glork/TSS either because of the very clever bussing of ZONEACE. So I don't blame anyone for a mistake I would have made myself.
Since this is likely the last game I'll play (real life taking precedence and all) I am glad I got to play with all of you. I had a blast."Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."- Thok

It's only close: Kingmaker 2 ran for a year and a couple weeks, and has more pages than this game also.Niv wrote:you know, does this game rank as the longest game on the site, or close, it went for 1 year and 3 days?I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.-
