It's a shame others do not seem to be signing up. I'm taking a Mafia sabbatical until after my article is published, otherwise I would try it out. I do have a concern with how merges will be handled. I haven't tested out OddMuse to see how simultaneous edits are handled (I know there is a merge capability, but I've never had to use it).

Hm, I have apparently been delinquent in my following of this thread. I've signed up for the game, and I'll see if there's anything I can add.

Same as Cam. I wish to sign up as well. I assume it is fairly normal game and not too much too handle as I can't afford any complicated games at this time.

so everyone has their own page, and all of these pages are listed on a main page, and on that main page there will be a votecount, and instad of talking in one thread, we will simply edit our wiki pages to say what we think about the current issue?

I've added roles unique to dps 6 and 7. 1-5, 8, and 9 will be done eventually as well.

There are another 20 or so at the GL.

I'm not sure I could list the roles...

I'll check.

PS: you cannot take roles from a themed game and strip them of their names. They don't make much sense that way. An example is converting Princess Diana from Famous Women into a generic Princess role.

When my current three games that I'm modding are finished, I will take a modding break for a few months or so, mainly because of our likely upcoming move to Amsterdam by October. That is a good moment for me to prepare an overview of the roles I use in my games, including the ones that I (think I) introduced. So Ben, you can stop your work on this.

The wiki needs someone to restructure how it's doing roles: give each role a page to contain variations, alternate names, etc. The lists (standard roles, your roles used, etc) should point to them. As-is, roles are repeated in several places.

Umm... I've never expected to see any of
these
again... It's been such a looong time... ;) In case it's relevant, i was trying to preview changes (and for the first time i had forgotten to mark them as minor) to BreakingStrategy. FWIW, i couldn't reproduce the error.

PS I have no idea what i should write in the ErrorDocument file... :|

Hmm... the server we are on is notoriously flakey lately, so it might be related to that. If people start getting these regularly, report them, just like the site downtime.

I'm going to have to admit for the first time I actually really played with the wiki and found it to not be as bad as I thought it was at first glance. It still is intimidating to some regards, but somehow I managed to be able to make a profile for myself thanks to the help of a few people in aim chat.

I have updated the wiki and added some code that I hope will catch some spammers. Can someone check to make sure I've reverted all the recent spam?

Next up, updating phpBB.

Is there something special we need to do to revert pages *and* block spammers, now? Roles and Theory just got identical spamlinks added. :?

::edit:: reverted them anyway, it's bad press to let graffiti stay up there.

Also, did you upgrade the Wiki version or something? Roles had a [[Killing Roles|Other Killing Roles]] redirect that no longer works, and I suspect the :/:: thing was indentions in a previous life.

::further edit:: and the Comments pages/links are gone? Well, they're not deleted, you just can't add/edit comments from a main page anymore...
Retired as of October 2014.

Yes, I updated the version so that I could add the spam blocker. I'll fix the comments thing, I probably accidently unset it.

The formatting rules shouldn't have changed, unless I missed something in the change log. I'll look again.

And no, you needn't do anything to block them. It's not perfect, but it's supposed to block about 60% of the bots out there.

Will someone please confirm that you cannot edit the wiki? Then set the editor password and confirm that you CAN edit it.

Thanks,

I can confirm that I can't edit it, as to setting the editor password bit, I don't know. All I know is that I can't edit my page.
