People keep threatening to run ASOIAF. I think MoS was the last one, might want to see if he's still interested. Macros, too... and Mariyta. Only people whose usernames start with M- were interested until now, apparently...
Retired as of October 2014.

I've wanted to base a mafia on a disease (choosing between Plague, Black Death, Swine Flu, etc.), but I'm still working on balancing the disease and the townies...

It'll be the win condition of the town to stop/survive it. There will be minimal mafia...but its still uninformed majority vs informed minority (town wont be able to ;earn the ability except by trial and error)

I'm also thinking of a pickpocket mafia, a crime-based mafia, a black market mafia, and the real mafia mafia (which will involve a structure similar to real-life mafia.) I might even connect the game together. I will try to elaborate more on my ideas, but I have a lot projects and homework at school.

Thats an interesting idea. I suggest you do it. However, you should elaborate more.

Another good idea. Elaborate more when you have put up the finishing touches.

the main issue is not making it seem like a computer code to simply crack rather than the game of mafia. Instead of making it a self-propelling disease, i could made it a regular mafia with the disease at their disposabile, still contagious ofc.

The basic disease: anyone w/ it will die in 3 Days, townies are unable to read the ability, and the ability is spread like a disease.

Interesting idea. I hope it comes through.

If you want, you can send it over for me to review (but you can mod your game right now anyways; its up to you.)

Dead or Alive?

I'm working on a vampire-themed game. I remember Back to Gambits had a vampire role, but I'm not sure of any others. If anyone knows of any games or has any ideas, I'd love to discuss.

I'm wanting to do a Mafia game based on the new
Batman: Arkham Asylum
game. The idea would be that the town are the inmates who are trying to stop Batman's peeps from escaping the island. Working on flavor ideas and game mechanics, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Lost Boys (Flay's large theme) had vampires, IIRC.

edit: and I'm pretty sure there's some Twilight game ongoing.

The Twilight game ended a while ago.

I've been working on a couple of games based on some Valve games, like Team Fortress 2 and the original Half Life. However, I was also thinking about Valve Mafia in general, a Large or Mini Theme where various characters from Valve games end up mashed together.

Would anyone be interested in this?

Which gives me an idea... Left 4 Dead mafia.

Special Infected = power roles
Regular zombies = townies
Humans = mafia

Game mechanics would include "hold them off" style events, hiding spots for zombies to boost/hinder power, etc.

Anyone who wants to flesh this out with me let me know.

I would probably want to join in on I love you Mafia 2, I wanted to join it the first time, but I was already over my head in games.

The Dice Man

Including characters from the book. Smalltown themed, with a fairly obvious game mechanic, you have to give the ultimate choice to the dice. You can only control probabilities

Real Time Mafia:

Mafia is usually a turned-based game. There are distinct stages of the game. For example, night and day. Mafia kills every night. Town lynches every day. Cops investigate every night.

Real Time Mafia isn't like that. You get to use your powers as often as you want, although they do have certain (and different) recharge times. For example (and not the true numbers or roles), the mafia may be able to kill every 4 days. The cop may be able to investigate every 3 days. The vigil may kill every 53 days. Expect the time between recharges to reduce for each use.

The town may lynch as OFTEN as they want or can. However, they use the Lynch + 24 hours system. Once
majority is reached, the town has 24 hours to switch their votes. At 24 hours after majority is reached, the player with plurality is lynched.

The mafia will be able to day talk starting 48 hours before their kill power is recharged until they decide to use their power.

Protection roles will protect for a certain time, perhaps not the same amount of time as their recharge time (e.g. doc protects for 3 days, it takes 5 days to recharge from when he first decided to protect).

PM me to /pre-in for this game
. Please note that any details are subject to change between now and when the game starts.

---
I've got 4 or 5 pre-ins so far for this mini-theme, and it's a bit off, but I welcome any other people that want to pre-in. I'm 20th in the queue, so it's probably a couple of months before this begins. Given the change in mechanic, be aware that -- though all possible steps will be taken to assure it -- balance is not promised.

Assuming this works reasonably well, hopefully it'll be the first of a series of games... eventually working up to a large theme. But the balance issues will need to be worked out before I subject 22+ people to the game. Therefore, guinea pigs assemble!

MafiaSCUMM

(Insert groans here)

As soon as Webcomic Wars Mafia is over. Pre-/ins may be sent at any time via PM.

we the town are memembers of the Sons of anarchy MC, the bad guys are everyone else, possible multi factions possible recruiting (turning informant mechanic) mason/neighbor stuff. so posting restrictions

has to be large theme at least 20 players
