I know for a fact that he used an ability that targeted Emp, and that he used an ability called Protect on himself. Tar even attested to the first part by asking Emp to claim, and that was before I said anything.

I'm not saying this automatically makes Tar scum BTW. At first I thought it did and then I thought about it and I realized it doesn't automatically make him scum because town would protect themselves as well. However, I feel scum may be more apt to save themselves.

I'm leaning towards Tar being town..

Tar using an ability on himself is not a scummy action. I agree with Pomegranate.. in a bastard game (especially a Xyl Bastard game), it's very possible that there are redirectors, bus drivers, reflectors, deflectors, or some other mechanism that makes Tar not responsible for his ability use.

If you can state for certainty that none of these possibilities exist, then I'll consider voting for Tar.

Tar said he was granted the ability he used on Emp. It would make sense for him to have an ability already (protect), and use both those abilities in one night.

I'm positive that Tar used an ability called Protect on himself. He may not have actually protected himself, but I know he intended to protect himself. I want Tar to answer my question on whether he was granted any other abilities.

How about we stop talking about the details of Tarh's role and ask him about the results he got on Emp? I don't think there's any reason to probe further when I consider Tarh to be town.

Concerning FL's role flip:

Evolvers are fairly common in high powered setups from #mafia irc (The mod's mafia bot)

Each night they automatically evolve granting them an additional ability every night. Sometimes awesome, sometimes worthless and sometimes hindering. They start low powered and become very powerful.

Jack of all trades on #mafia is 1 shot kill, 1 shot protect, 1 shot investigate/inspect (guaranteed sane as I recall, could be wrong on this), 1 shot roleblock.


@Slicey, if you think Tar is scum then why are you willing to get Empking's claim because Tar asked for it?

If you think Tar is town, why are you posting his supposed ability info?

If your unsure, why did you claim an informational role in the first place?

Your stances are inconsistent here. I want clarity.

Given these two results, I think it's time to fullclaim what I did last night (particularly since I misread one of the results PM).

The first sentence is technically true (thought it was completely true, but I misread; it actually allowed me to send a third player on my behalf); the odd motivate allowed me to use an ability by sending another player (presumably the one who sent in the odd motivate). I used two abilities last night, and a third was used on my behalf.

The first is technically NOT my ability (I know whose ability it actually is but would prefer not to reveal that information; I doubt I can use it again), but I was able to use it courtesy of the ability I mentioned yesterday. That ability - an investigative ability whose specifics I will not reveal at this time, other than that I don't actually know what its name is - targeted Empking, giving me the results that make me suspicious of him.

The second ability was what would have been called a background check in Mind Screw 3, and was received via and made on my behalf by another player whose name I either do not know or refuse to reveal. This ALSO successfully resolved (giving results to me - sorry, to those whom it may concern), and revealed something very interesting to me. I can confirm that there IS a town-aligned player with Death Note (and an alternate win condition) in the game. I also know who the player with the Death Note is, and a couple of other useful things about that role.

The THIRD ability is interesting, because under ordinary circumstances I have no control over it. It is, in fact, called Protect, and I was sent to make it on behalf of another player (who I either do not know or refuse to reveal, though I will note that I have reason to believe that player is town).

However, last night I was informed that I was being forced to choose a new target for that ability (instead of the player who sent me to make it), and that I could not choose the original target (namely myself). I retargeted it at Unright (who I am now reasonably sure is town due to Neighbor conversations overnight).

So, what does this mean?

1) If you trust me, then mass role name claim is EXTREMELY favorable to the town. At minimum, we should probably force three unconfirmed players to claim role name today. NOTE: If we do mass name claim, then I request that the player with the Death Note LIE about his character name and series. I know who that player is already, and don't see a need to make him or her more vulnerable by forcing him or her to claim the true name.
2) Slicey needs to explain RIGHT NOW why he saw me targeting myself with Protect when I know for a fact that it targeted Unright due to a modified redirect.
3) Empking needs to fullclaim (at the moment, I'll stay with fullclaim being just series and a summary of abilities).

I'll note right now that I mistrust the reasoning on FL's role - my role title appears in the Xylbot list, but my primary ability does something completely different*. I have a sneaking doubt on Zazie being a standard JoaT as well.

* - unless it's a hidden ability; wouldn't be the only one in my role (didn't know about Protect until last night).

That poses a possibility I can test easily enough tonight. Not relevant now, Slicey should still have seen me targeting Unright with Protect.

I would STRONGLY prefer to force a claim out of Empking first - my results aren't 100% conclusive.
