DNS update progress

The DNS change has resolved for bluehost, so I've gone ahead and set up the domain. It may be a day or two before it has resolved for everyone.

If some of you could check www.mafiascum.net/index.html regularly and post what happens here, that would be great. When it's resolved for everyone, we'll need to change the forum url back to www.mafiascum.net/forum Until then, even if you access it through the mafiascum.net domain, it will likely switch you over to the mithmojo.net subdomain (though it should work fine).

New Server!

October 3, 2005 - You're on the new server. The forums have been transfered. Everything else will be along shortly. The DNS may not be fully updated yet, so it might switch you over to using the mithmojo.net subdomain even if you started out on mafiascum.net, but that will be sorted within a couple days as well.

Yeah, I loaded that to test it a while back. Wasn't even working until the DNS resolved. Think jeep is doing the wiki tomorrow.

I'll leave the forum set as it is until it looks like it's resolving for everyone.

not a hundred percent sure what you are asking us to check but i can get onto the index (black page) but not the mafiascum.net/forum link. The from this thread gives me a 404 error but when i click the link to the forum from the index page it redirects me to the mithmojo subdomain. Hope that is a help.

Heh, the link in the first post 404'd because it got a stray period.

All I need to know is whether the index link resolves to the new server (page quoted above), the old server (jeep's Don't Panic link), or gives an error. From there, clicking the forum link on the new server will redirect you to the subdomain url (if it doesn't, let me know, because something is wrong ), as should clicking the forum link in the first post.

As long as you're getting to the new server, it doesn't matter which url you try. The reason I need to know is that in a day or two or whenever everyone is resolving to the new server, we'll switch the forum url to www.mafiascum.net/forum and it will stop redirecting.

I'm on right now via my bookmark to mafiascum.net/forum, and I get the new front page. Should I have problems?

My bookmark at work to mafiascum.net loads the site fine; will try again at home this evening.

My shortcuts to parts of the site are all working properly again. In a week and a half I'll be back at the office to see if I can finally scum while being payed :D
