Aha! That's good troubleshooting information. Can you still edit older posts?

Troll will check.

*edit* Troll can still edit Troll's posts and the posts of others in threads which Troll started in the game forums.

Mr. Flay wrote:Okay, implemented a possible fix for not being able to delete posts in your game threads. Give it a try and see what you discover.
I unlocked the thread and tried to delete M=W's test post; when I clicked the delete button, I get this:
Sorry but you can only delete your own posts.
So, while I have a delete button on every post in that thread [which I started], I can't actually delete any. (In other MishMash threads that I did not start, there is no delete button on each post.)
....what?

Also, since the title of the thread is at least partially "wish list":

1) I would like to be able to remove threads from my egosearch. (Likely impossible. But useful for games that one replaces out of and threads that one no longer wishes to read, but once posted in.)

2) It would be über-cool to be able to set thread icons individually. My thinking is that I still read games that I'm dead in, but I want a reminder that I shouldn't post in them. If I could change the thread icon for my own view, this would help. (Also, likely impossible. But isn't that what wishes are for?)

ETA:

3) Will there ever be iso search for the archives?
....what?

Porochaz to Kison about msutils wrote:I didn't actually realise some of the functions of the advanced search to be honest so it takes away some of the point of my post but I guess its mainly because it searches the archive which is useful for finding old games which the advance search can't do. I like using msutils to find how many games a player have been in when Im modding or when Im looking up stats etc. its just a bit useless with the current advance search when anything that hasn't been posted in in the last month isn't included and its awkward in yours when the last month isn't included. I guess I could do it fine with both searches, and be careful not to duplicate (for instance I was seeing how many games I have been in), it would just be useful is all, but not particularly important. Might be worth if I ask Flay about including archives on the search if it isn't too much of a strain on the server.
Even if there was a ticky box which you would have to click to include the archive. It would make me muchly happy as I like to search about peoples activity levels, how many games they have been in, what kind of games they have been in etc.

Yeah, eventually we hope to integrate the search across both the archives and the current board. I don't have an ETA for that, though once we collect all the archives in one board you should be able to do just two searches for games and the like, with no overlap.

NS: Removing things from egosearch won't be possible, it defeats the purpose of that search (fast and inflexible). Use Bookmarks?

Setting thread icons for just YOUR view would be a major change to the architecture of the board. I can eventually look into a sort of 'flagging' system for threads, but that would be a long ways off (might involve combining Bookmarks and Subscriptions, too).

As far as the delete function goes, NS and Troll made me realize what is going on, I think. The good news is I'm pretty sure I know how to solve it; the bad news is I'm swamped this weekend and probably won't get to it until next weekend, realistically. In the meantime, if you need to delete some bad content, edit the post down to almost-nothing and/or contact a List Mod/Admin to have the post deleted later.

Is it just me, or did the forum colour scheme just change? Everything seems far more blueish all of a sudden.

Is it possible to have an option not to have the original message quoted when PMing someone by pressing the button underneath the avi, sometimes its useful other times it really isn't.

I can probably add something to the UCP for that, but it would be an always-on, always-off thing. I usually just Ctrl-A, Delete when I don't want it...

I didn't find any mismatched code, but I took out this chunk of commented-out code entirely. Anybody who was getting this before, can you verify that it's gone now (you may need to hard-refresh the page)?

Personal wiki links should be back before midnight.

Also, for those looking for multiquote, the 'topic review' section below the posting editor has a 'quote' button that will insert that post into the editor wherever your cursor is. So as long as you're responding to something less than 25 posts ago, you already have this functionality.

This is obviously not a big deal, but I preferred "mark this forum read" instead of "mark subforums read".

Hrm? Where? I see "Mark topics read" and "Mark forums read"... or do you literally mean the word 'this' would make it read better?

ani: Not entirely sure. Game tags are... well, dicey, and I'm working on some lower-hanging fruit right now, like wiki and Sepia. Probably you'll see Chess first, as I've got a straight mod for that. All the dice mods are still in BETA... :igmeou:

EDIT: I'm no longer seeing the above issue.

Also--is the archive forum going to stay so sparse? People do still read those sometimes, so it's annoying that they lose the filter, and even worse that all links to them (and individual posts in them) break. I'm sure there's some explanation for the missing avatars that I'm forgetting, but that's another thing that makes them tough to sit through.

Nah, once we get all the forum edits done here, it will be trivial* to copy them over to the archive forum. It's definitely not going to stay 'broken' like it is now, but the focus is on getting the main forum back to full power.
