DEAR GOD.

WHY HATH THOUGH FORSAKEN ME.
Okay, maybe I was a little harsh. You have to understand, though, that one thing that *seriously* raises my hackles is when someone attacks a case on them because it isn't substantial enough without getting proactive. If you think I'm wrong, then regardless of how much or little my case has, I am equally far away from finding the unaccounted murdery dude running around. So don't attack my case on you - find me a BETTER one.
RayFrost [url=https://forum.mafiascum.net/posting.php?mod...p=2751826]1063[/url] wrote: Have to ask, though: hito, what in the hell made you choose

to docify? He was a supremely obvtown player. He was too town to live. That was my actual read of him.
Bwahahaha. I saw this one coming. Okay kids, gather around, it's storytime...

We appointed Equi as doc on Friday the 14th. That day starts around the bottom of page 13.

We had virtually full faith after the QL (Prophecy delayed us one day, but our accumulation covered almost all the change.) We had to appoint someone.

Our major town reads then were: Fate, Magua, Andrius, and Equinox. Fate because his scumreads strongly mirrored ours at that time. Magua for his strong, pro-town analysis. Andrius for his involvement with the quickwagon and general content. Equi was mostly a gut read.

We figured Fate and Magua were so prominent that they were likely to bite the nk. Andrius, we figured we'd sit on a bit to see if his star would wax or wane. (He ended up having a diminished presence in thread - his survival is why we chose him.)

So that leaves Equi. As it happens, we discussed the matter in an AIM chatroom, and I posted the logs in the QT (so after the game ends, people can read everything that went into our decisions.) Here is when Equi-doc was first brought up:

(1:51:30 PM) Zach: how much of an nk threat is someone like equinox?
(1:52:05 PM) hito: well I'd say low, but I have no experience with a lot of these people, so I'm just going off of "who I'd kill as scum"
(1:52:36 PM) SottyFL: I'd say she is low as well
(1:52:43 PM) hito: Equi has been doing a lot of hemming and hawwing, doubt the scumteam would feel terribly worriede
(1:52:46 PM) hito: *worried
(1:53:09 PM) Zach: she's typically underestimated by others and by herself
(1:53:34 PM) hito: oh yeah, I'm not trying to say "equi is bad" here
(1:53:53 PM) hito: but I am also a player who changes their mind a lot, and I can attest that it lowers your percieved threat level a LOT
(1:54:09 PM) SottyFL: she might be a good idea for the doc as far as nk ability goes

After chatting a bit, we narrowed down the plans thusly ([brackets] have present-day commentary)

(2:06:57 PM) hito: a.) equi doc today, fate vig tomorrow [thank christ we didn't pick this]
(2:07:25 PM) hito: ab) Jack or AGM oracle today, neighborizer tomorrow with someone we think would target them [ultimately neither of our reads on them were town enough to risk it]
(2:07:35 PM) hito: err *b.), not ab
(2:07:39 PM) SottyFL: ;)
(2:07:56 PM) hito: c.) [redacted]
(2:08:32 PM) hito: d.) equi doc, wait a (rl) day, magua oracle next rl day [we "picked" this, but decided not to give magua oracle in favor of something else]
(2:09:18 PM) hito: e.) other mystery plans? I am flexible like gumby
(2:09:34 PM) hito: regardless I have to walk two blocks to pick up my pizza ($8.90 for a large, feels good man) [outrageous prices!]

It's also worth noting that all orders only go through at two times: the ~8:30PM votecount, or at a lynch scene. So we appoint Equi as a doctor that Friday night. And you all know part II of the story...Saturday, Equinox comes to the thread and beats the fuck out of it. My personal theory is that the external validation gave her (Equi is female right? I forget so here's guessforce 5) a strong confidence boost that she was on the right track. This coincided with Fate leaving the thread and Magua getting some mud thrown on him. Had we appointed the PR Saturday, I think we would have made a different decision.

Tl;dr: heartwarming true story of a scumhunter who learns to believe in herself and gets shot in the face for it
VasudeVa 1094 wrote: @Seraphs: Can abilities/kills be ordered after a hammer? How sure are you that your NK theories are good?
Why Andy?
Why Equinox?
Equi I've already covered.

Abilities and kills can be issued after a hammer, before the modscene. Modscenes and the ~8:30PM VC's are the only time orders go through.

I've stated previously why there are no clear alternatives to our NK theories.

Why Andrius? We confirmed him without actually using an order on him specifically, which let us use the Holy Order “Communion” on him. (The one-order-per-person limit from MoHo is still in the game.)

Her statements about fate being a crosskill seem to be genuine belief. How does scum even get it into their head to say "scumFate must have been killed by scum"?

Here's how I break down things from my POV:

From Town to Scum, in their various tiers:
inHim - ohai guize
Andrius - A WONDERFUL AND GLORIOUS SERVANT AND VESSEL
----
mothrax - Very Town looking over things between him and Fate.
RayFrost - His chatting with the Seraphs is A+++
----
Furcolow - I'd have him in the second tier with mothrax and RayFrost, but I have this slightest bit of paranoia about a Fate-bus.
Jack - Most recent posts read more like Jacktown, especially the bizarro stance on BabySpice.
Nachomamma8 - I had something to say about you but I forgot what it was. Will dig this up.
AlmasterGM - reads somewhat panicked and nervous after being called the most likely to be a Serial Killer by the Seraphs.

This leaves the following candidates I most want to lynch, from top to bottom:
singersigner
Baby Spice
VasudeVa

I'll be back sometime to fill in what I left out on Nacho and to tell you about the scum. Cheers.

And yet another sheep of the almighty gods. I bet scum is just miiilking this.

inHim, what's this about Jack's "bizarro stance with BabySpice"? How do you interpret that as town? I mean, I agree with you, but I'm interested in seeing what you have to say about it before I give my reasons.
Also, why no vote with your reads?

I agree with RayFrost about VV's 1094 looking like flailing, but I suspect it's more like desperate town trying to ween his way back into good graces again. Blatantly mimicking you for the sake of looking more town is not something I think VV would do.

Jack, as far as BabySpice goes, if she wasn't scummy before, this really should've done something to ping your scumdar:
Baby Spice wrote:One wonders how you can be so wrong. One wonders how, when your god says "This person is scum with Fate", and provides a case (The only scum case they have provided to us I believe) that you don't want to follow that.
1. I'd love for her to actually point out the case they made against VV (that was the only person they implied would've been scum with Fate), since they didn't actually make one.
2. She's practically begging for people to sheep the Seraph, which, like I've said, it's just scum milking their reads.
3. She's voting for someone she THINKS they made a case on, and who, if she turns out scum instead of SK, is least likely her scum buddy (aside from me, who they didn't have a case on).
I suspect AGM is.

1: From Andy #159:
quoth the gods wrote:We can give you the sparknotes of the VV case, though. His ISO 10 smells very scummy - "I'll 'like' the Kit wagon, but I'd rather be useless as fuck on my own wagon." He's literally only ever voted for townies. His Magua suspicions smells overdone; the scum who goes after deliberately obvtown targets to say "Hey, scum would go for the easy lynches, right?". His Andrius vote is even worse. He can't even muster the energy to make up a convincing case, but he's making sure to stick to the narrative of "misguided townie".
From my io #19

Kinda matches what I brought up back in my iso#9 or #10 or so.
So not only did you aparently miss Hito saying it, you missed me quoting it.

2: Since I pointed out that hito's case matched my previous one to some degree, he's sheeping me :) (Ok, sarcasm off) HitoSeraph and I are just matching a read, so why wouldn't I call for that one to be the lynch?

3: I'm voting for someone that I've already made a case on, that I've already called for the lynching of.
I don't know what annoys me more. Bad Harry Potter fan fiction that gets the facts right, or good Harry Potter fan fiction that doesn't.
