Would love to know why OGML has a town read on Apok. I've seen the occasional forced vote and a desire to keep options wide open. Not exactly worthy of town-cred.

I put Apok on my scum list for weak hunting. She votes for Agar, then says hey nexus case looks good, but I'm going to vote for Vezo because I want more explanation on the Agar case. Then when she get's ignored she switches to OGML.

LMP's case was the best out there and very eye opening.

To whoever asked, OGML's 20 through 24 are scummy, and he disappeared for long enough to derail the wagon then came back and hasn't really done much to redeem himself. It's not conclusive, and if I had free reign over today's lynch I'd kill Saint, but it's getting near deadline. I am slightly worried by the other players voting OGML right now, but it seems to me the best option of the current wagons.

farside: Read above. It's pointless to keep a vote on someone who obviously won't be lynched close to deadline. Why shouldn't I be suspicious of someone who casts a vote without any reasoning? Just because I liked the vote doesn't mean that I can't question the motivation behind it.

This is mangified by the fact that OMGL is a medium town read to me, and the wagon on him is really ugly looking.

Justify your Town read on OMGL. Seriously. I’ve posted in two ISO fairly clearly why I think he’s scum (ISO1 and the new bit of Cognitive Diss at ISO 16). Please explain why those reasons aren’t valid suspicions.

He reads as town?

I dont really see that much scum motivation for his play. He pushes on SGR, he defends his view and tunnel vision, and eventually is open to change and he justifies the change. There is nothing about his play that screams town, but I dont see much reason to consider him as scum, especially when you compare wagons and who are on them.

The OMGL wagon is one of the most ugly things to me, as I really dont have favorable reads of anyone on it. On someone that you are iffy on, that alone is a decent tell.

Deadline is Saturday and this is a busy week for me, no one is biting on a WC lynch, Ghost-scum is still a fine lynch.

You know what bugs me? Your OGML town read. I just read your ISO and you not even a single time mention anything he's done to make you think he is town. It's gut, gut, don't like it, gut. You provide no reasoning to why you think OGML is a bad lynch. His play has up until most recently has been nothing but garbage. There is absolutely no basis for such an adamant OGML town read, so much to the point that you call anyone on the OGML wagon scum.

Okay... Just wolfed down the entire game in spurts during the past 24 hours. It'll take a while to digest as I'm much better at analyzing mafia games on the fly instead of old stuff.

But are some gut feelings on everyone. (order and numbers from the Alive list in OP)

To clarify. I both read the entire game from start to finish, then ISOed people to help write that reads-post and check double-check other stuff.

I've played one game (that I can recall) with OhGodMyLife (url=http://www.mafiascum.net/archive/viewtopic.php?t=11392]Mini 786[/url]). He started very similarly by ignoring everything else to vote a hunch then look for who is chainsaw defending. Seems to be his MO. He was town in that game, but I admit I don't have any idea if he does the same thing as scum.

still reading; pg 19. I'm finding this very difficult... so far it seems that everyone is slightly scummy to me. One way to win would be to exploit the special game mechanic. Speculating, i think there's a mafia recruiter or at least a spy. Or the mafia may have the power to 'remove from game'(in a Magic the Gathering sense). Also, I'm more willing to elect players who seem more experienced.

See this sort of reaction sets my gut afire. You asked why it was so hard to get a wagon on Player Y. I gave you a reason. Did I say your method wasn’t going to be effective? No. I said that player who weren't 'converts' of said style probably got sick of wagonnning for wagonning’s sake (which is what was going on) and might not be quick to follow along once again.

That’s not discrediting your methods. It’s giving you an honest answer about why you were getting so little traction. That you jump to the conclusion that it’s discrediting is suspect.

I'm still interested in reading others' opinions of the sequence: namely MoI, KK, and anyone else who has you on his/her radar.

Since you apparently didn’t see my thoughts on the matter I’ll requote them for you -

I have to say I got a laugh out of Seacore’s “Furc is horrible” post at 619 with him being in the game (albeit in disguise).

I only knew Saint = Furc due to playing in Cyclical Experiment with him as a Hydra with Vi. On my re-read I was curious if he was flying solo but picked up on enough contextual clues I came to the conclusion he was. I don’t see anything unusual in Seacore’s comments (since he ostensibly has no reason to know Furc = Saint) other than they are unintentionally hilarious.

I looked back at 400 and my answer is –

I was answering Locke’s question. I’m not coming from a standpoint of meta. As stated Apok at least (of those with 5 or fewer posts) was providing reasons and logic (bad logic) for her stances. That’s behavior that is much less likely to be indicative of lurking scum, as opposed to the others that Locke had questioned me about.

I

am reminded of a story, of how Anansi the spider tricked crocodile out of his eyes. One day Anansi was spinning his web near the watering hole where all the animals were laying out in the sun. Then crocodile came up and caught his head in Anansi’s web.

“Damn you Anansi,” the crocodile said with strands of web over his eyes, “I’m trying to eat water buffalo and I got stuck in your damn web.”

Anansi laughed at crocodile. “You can’t see my web, its too small for your eyes. Hey crocodile, you want to use my eyes while you hunt?”

“Thank you Anansi, you are too kind.” So crocodile traded eyes with Anansi and went off to hunt. But crocodile was not used to seeing through six little spider eyes, and could not catch anything. Frustrated he went back to Anansi’s web. “Anansi, I want my eyes back now. I can’t see straight!”

But Anansi liked crocodile’s big eyes, so he picked up two smooth stones and handed them to crocodile instead. Anansi got his six little eyes back, which he placed around his new big eyes, and he laughed again.

“Anansi you liar, these aren’t my eyes!” says crocodile. He swung his big head back and forth but could not see a thing with those rocks.

“Looks like you’ll have to learn to see with your big nose crocodile.” Anansi said, and laughed as he ran away. And from that day on spiders had eight eyes, and were always good at seeing things other animals couldn’t.
