Well, that would be the risk in announcing protect, therefore it's unlikely doctors would claim who they protect.

@ABR: I can see how a Mafia rolecop would help out the Hardboiled setup, but I think if you did that, maybe change it to a 13-player setup and add an extra VT? The PRs in Hardboiled are already pretty swingy, and a rolecop that would help the Maf eliminate them sooner seems more apt to increase that swinginess, whereas an extra VT would give town a second mislynch in case the game swings towards the worst-case scenario for town (which is, D1 mislynch on town, and three town die N1 (tracker/vig chooses vig and shoots town, maf shoots town, and hider hides between one of the two shot townies), which creates MyLo on D2). A Mafia rolecop + 1 VT would, together, address both balance and swinginess.

Just a thought, take it FWIW.

If a Mafia Doctor is lynched, isn't optimal Town play to have all Doctors stop protecting, turning the game into effective nightless since it makes sure the Mafia has no kill at that point?

you if 0 doctors protect someone then an even number of doctors protected them. I like the game, I just wanted to point that out.

To make this not happen make it where each doctor must choose to protect.

What about if you make the Mafia Doctor an Anti-Doctor?

An Anti-Doctor chooses a target, if that target is Doc protected, then they die.

I used one in Mini 836, but it never succeeded.

chkflip, pretty sure your set-up is too swingy for a lot of people on this site to like it. Personally, I don't mind that, but it annoys most people here.

I'm trying to circumvent the issue brought up by chesskid3 where, if the Roleblocker is lynched, all remaining Doctors claim on the following day and perform circular protections. The other alternative was to make all of the Doctors Macho.
