Ythan, I don't believe you're currently voting. What's the point in saying you'd be willing to vote somebody, and then proceeding not to vote them, if you don't already have a vote?

Ghostwriter, I ISO'd you and Ctrl + F'd 'Ythan'. Your vote is the first mention of him. Care to explain?

It has the same effect as a vote minus immediate lynching power. Es knows, or should know, that I am willing to contribute to a lynch. Moving my name on a votecount isn't going to have any tangible consequences for the time being.

Pinky and the Brain wrote:@ Kdub: What was your read on Tragedy whilst catching up?

Well, I read the game knowing in advance that Tragedy was town, so I don't think I can answer this question fairly. I was mainly looking for "what are other people's reasons for voting her?" rather than "what is her alignment?"

Does the sheeping extend beyond being on the Tragedy wagon and intending to be on the Es wagon today? Because I won't argue with that. I never got down to Es, and while I did get to Tragedy I was a bit behind so I'm not sure how much of my input on her was unique. It's a fair case.

there was more than enough time during D2 to catch up and make a fair statement. The wagon was fairly well drawn out as was the day.

You're right, but it still means you were looking at the thread. You were able to post multiple times on most of the ones you did post on. Granted they were close together, it still suggests that you did have time to read the thread and know what's going on.

I don't know how good your memory is but I have addressed at least once what specifically I was doing and did not get to Espeon on. I'm keeping up with new posts as they go by.

but you still were able check up on almost every page. If you had time to get on and post (in some cases several times) you probably had time to take at least a quick glance at everything that was said.

I guess you didn't feel like actually looking into what I referenced. I've been reading the isos of living players (and a bit more, I'm not going to get into the exact details of how I compile reads), starting at the top of the playerlist at dawn d2 and working my way down. It takes significantly more time than reading new posts.

i feel like ISOs would hurt a read, since you don't see the context it was used, or who/what it was in response to.

I've found it really useful. In the numerous games I've done it in. I'm sure it wouldn't work for everyone but I like it.

Bunnylover wrote:So if I understand this correctly, the whole thing that is making Espeonage scummy is because he called Lelouche town, correct?

nope, he didn't just say he LVB was town, but he also never really had the tiniest little doubt. He also failed to provide any reason why he thought LVB was town. He insisted saying he could tell the difference between town VI and scum VI. When we called this scummy, he lurked til day was over. He also failed to make a case about someone else, and he started the game by proposing a massnameclaim on day1.

@Dana: I think your hammer is very scummy. In several cases, recklessness in hammering is a towntell, but the exception is when someone wants to hammer before someone else unvotes. I myself was probably going to hammer Tragedy in a few hous, because I found her scummy and because the rest of the bloc had moved votes there. But you didn't give anyone the time of deciding if the caim was believable or not. You say you did it because claim was ridiculous. Can you explain me why? What exactly made you feel the caim was fake?

this is not goodposting. How can you read the game if you don't try to put yourself in the position of the players on each day? I am not liking this. Ignoring the scumminess of a flipped town looks like a good way to tunnel people. However, please, share your results: why did people vote Tragedy?

It's better if you decide what is relevant and what is not by yourself.

The characters are fairly obscure. I'm not sure why Waddle Doo came up as town though. I suppose the enemies are all major ones... but this makes me think that if someone were to claim, like, Goomba or Octorok that we'd have to do a double take.

P&tB 719 wrote:I appreciate that it was a joke(?) about the unreliable vote count programme used by the mod, but did you really have nothing else to say?

No joke. I think Tragedy and Espeonage were both inferior wagons. It's high time someone followed my lead and went after a player who was much more apologetic about his Leouch read rather than a player who was fluffy (Tragedy) or overconfident (Espeonage). True, I did say that I was willing to move toward Tragedy
over Espeonage
, but I didn't move my vote for a reason. mb53 is being given too much slack. He needs to be held accountable for his cruising by. His "case", if you want to call it that, against Tragedy was merely rehashing the same tired points that were already brought up.

Tragedy said "I have nothing to do in this whole game with my power that doesn't exist. Anyways I still don't have a power."
That made no sense to me and looked like Tragedy was trying to make up flavor that the mod gave her which was really just her own work. Add to that the fact that she was claiming ANOTHER obscure character that was a VT, and it just was not believable at all to me. Why would I give someone else time to reconsider when I had decided the claim was fake?

@Lewarch: Alright that makes more since then what I was previously thinking.

@RC: If it is a Shigeru Miyamoto creation, then it is town. Sadly that give us a thousand possible name claims for scum =/.

@Everyone voting Espeonage: Whats the different between Espeonage and Mb53?
Show
I have played 25 games:
Town wins : 13
Scum wins : 3
Town loses : 7
Scum loses : 2

I do not attack the player of a post, but the post itself. I would appreciate it if you do the same.

lewarcher:
When I'm replacing into a game, I like to do my readthrough with knowledge of the flips up to that point. It helps me in terms of looking at interactions between players during the readthrough when I know the alignments of some players. I don't like doing "blind" readthroughs, but I know that other people prefer that.

Of the people who voted Tragedy, dana's behavior toward her seemed the most forced and unconvincing. I wasn't thrilled with mb53 or thil's votes on her, but dana looked the worst to me out of that wagon, partly because of his earlier behavior as well.
