Bot: Duo lane, AD carry + support/tank
Because AD carries are very item dependent, so you babysit them for a while.
Top is the longest lane with solos, so it's the most likely place on the map for unavenged kills to occur, with or without the jungler's help. It's also the place unavenged kills are most significant, the solo of the team benefitting from the exchange can push the lane to tower and rack up several denies long before the top solo has time to walk back to the distant top lane.
So top solo is somebody who can get an early kill, or prevent one quite easily. (Tristana, Nidalee, etc) If you go too all out for it, though, you'll end up distributing lots of gold to a character with weak scaling, and the chance of getting a kill just won't be enough. That's why Garen now duo lanes, though he used to top lane when his kills were more certain, but now he's best used to protect a carry bottom since his scaling is poor.
Most people seem to think mid has "more farm", but that's not exactly it, the same number of minions spawn.
Mid is a short lane, so you can put any super weak early game character there, they'll probably be able to farm just fine. Some characters don't care very much how short the lane is, and will take mid just because there's a weaker enemy to pick on there (like Leblanc, who deals all her damage before you've walked an inch anyway).
Offtanks are really good at getting early kills and avoiding death. The traditional paradigm would say they have the downside of poor scaling, but in the current metagame they have excellent scaling. Garen's still iffy, but renek, jarvan, etc do great there."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"- IH

Mid is only considered like that because it's an uncontested lane that gets solo'd. Even in regular games without a jungler. Also I guess minions get there first before the other lanes?Untrod Tripod (7:27:18 PM): you enjoy whoring

I still utterly despise Riot for making a champ (Leblanc) who can theoretically with Flash have a triple blink, one forward to harass, then two back if need be. It's basically consequence-free harass in solo mid, and it forces you to either change your build to get early MR if you're a hard carry, or deliberately counter pick to get a silence to shut her down, or just sit back and risk losing out on farm in order to not die.- TheButtonmen

LeBlanc is a pretty weak hero, she's a good laner but after the lane phase ends she becomes fairly awful. A single stun or banshees veil completely shuts her down.
She just an AP version on Panth but doesn't even have his stun or map mobility.Routine day with a dirt cheap brush

She's Burst, and she's good at what she does. grabbing some MR shuts her down, and she's squishy as hell, when you actually get a chance to hit her.
And she doesn't hit hard enough to kill, nor run fast enough to outrun Poppy.

Leblanc is pretty much the definition of a snowball hero. Her level 6 burst is scary - if not the strongest in the game, then way up there - and unlike other big burst heroes (veigar and annie spring to mind) the cooldowns on her spells (particularly her ult) are short as fuck. That makes her a bitch to lane against - you have to stay at high enough health to survive a combo, and being hit by a combo generally means you're no longer at high enough health to survive a combo. So she can force you out of lane a lot. However, her scaling is mediocre (particularly if she can't land a combo). She needs a lot of farm/kills to continue being relevant come lategame - denying her those kills is more important than getting that extra ten-twenty cs. (It's also worth noting - dying will make you miss cs too ^_^) The correct way to play against her is passively. If you need to go back, then so be it. Don't let her get a huge lead on you by feeding her kills. If you need a null magic mantle to survive her shit, then hell, 400g to stop a hero snowballing out of control is 100% worth it. You'll still be more relevant than her come endgame (I don't think anyone is trolled harder by banshee's veil, given how much she needs to combo to get worth out of her spells).
Winning your lane depends entirely on the matchup - if you're against an anti-carry, coming out even or slightly behind in lane is a win for you. If you're against something like veigar, coming out even is a loss. Not every lane is a "I'MMA KILL HIM FIVE TIMES BEFORE LANING PHASE" type lane. Be aware of that when considering playstyle and item choices. Doran's shield is superior to blade in a lane that you don't want to push. Catalyst is a great item if you just want to survive the laning phase. Doran's blades is all about beating down your lane opponent. Boots health pots is a choice that says I'm going to win this lane if I can just get in range/stay out of range of you. And so on.
IMO the primary consideration for top lane is actually how good a champ is at escaping jungle ganks. If you're pushed up to the enemy tower, then any hero without a built in escape is going to have a hell of a time retreating to their own tower. That's why people like vlad go top a lot (trollpool) even though vlad is a character who is not particularly likely to get kills in lane.
Solo lane heroes can be ap, ad or anticarries. AP heroes scale primarily off levels - hence ap heroes tend to need to have a solo lane, and you rarely see an ap hero laning with a support. AD heroes need the farm more than they need the levels. That's why they sometimes lane bot with a support. Anticarries (trololol xin zhao) go to solo lanes to prey on the squishies who typically inhabit these lanes - what's more, an assassin who gets a lot of kills in lane suddenly becomes a menace. You sometimes get tanks and tanky dps (jarvan, irelia, malphite, shen, singed etc) soloing particularly top, where the extra beef can allow them to stay in lane. Tanky dps that gets fed is probably the scariest thing in the game. Suddenly, your squishies will just melt and there is jack shit you can do about it since they're tanky enough to dive your team. That's when things start to go belly up. So letting tanky dps farm top is not a bad idea. Shen I guess just gets his ult quicker (I dunno).
Many things can be done bot, but typically you want to try and feed your farm to one person because that is the most efficient way to distribute farm. It's worth noting that most supports and "farmless" heroes actually have good ratios - it's just because they serve their primary function without items and damage dealers do not, that they cede farm to the damage dealers. If you're going to have split farm, then a beefy lane that shuts down the other lane is not a bad idea. Something like sion xin zhao would rape a carry/support lane - stun, charge, knock up, kill, trolololol. It's the same idea as the anti-carry solo lane.
Having a third solo and a roamer is also a possibility. The roamer, unlike the jungler, has no way of catching up on levels and exp, so he'll tend to take a few opportunities to just hit up bottom lane and take some creeps/xp. For that reason, and also because it means a likely 2v1 bot lane, someone like singed is probably ideal - loves the extra farm, gets it easily, able to defend the tower, not easily harassed out of lane. Carry-support lanes tend to eat these lanes for breakfast though.
My ideal teamcomp would probably be centred around a super strong early ganking jungler (something like nunu, maybe udyr, that kind of role) with 2 weakish solos who beast in lategame if they get farmed enough (something like veigar?) The jungler keeps the lanes in your favour, and winning the lanes then wins you the game. Bot lane I'd put something that requires no babysitting, like taric-nasus or similar types of lanes. Then win by farming dragons, keeping lanes pushed and not overextending as a team before the late game kicks in.(10:50:24 PM) xcaykex: GODDAMNIT I DONT WANNA GET RID OF MY TENTACLE RAPE PORN

leblanc reminds me of malz. Once she hits six, she's got a zero to death combo on like a 60 second cd. If you can't counter it she's about to snowball. Unlike malz, she doesn;t have any real AOE so... eh. She can be annoying for one character, and then not that dangerous. Malz, on the other hand, can win teamfights.Untrod Tripod (7:27:18 PM): you enjoy whoring

You should try Morde, you can farm entire lanes with at most 5 APM.Routine day with a dirt cheap brush

ok so I own a good number of champs (45+) so i think.... I'm gonna start playing them in solo queue alphabetically, and take screen shots at the end on how I actually do.
The current list is Akali, Alistair, Amumu, Annivia, Annie, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Caitlyn, Cho gath, Evelyn, fiddlesticks, Garen, Irelia, Janna, Jax, Karma, karthus, Kasssadin, kat, kayle, Lee sin, Malphite, mordekaiser, morgana, Nasus, Nidalee, noctourne, Nunu, Olaf, Pantheon, Poppy, rammus, renekton, ryze, Shaco, Shen, Singed, Sion, sivir, Swain, Teemo, Tristana, Tryndamere, Twisted Fate, Udyr, Veigar, Warwick, and Zilean.
Should I actually attempt to do well... or try trollee outside of the box builds in this project? Nothing too serious, just stuff like AD Akali, AD Alistair, Ap amumu etc etc.Untrod Tripod (7:27:18 PM): you enjoy whoring

If it's ranked, I'd try your hardest with every champ. As someone who is currently on a ridiculous losing streak (last 3-4 days with only occasional wins), having someone do that kind of thing in ranked is frustrating if it backfires horribly, especially considering how fast a team can degrade to playing at the <500 ELO level when one person does something very trollish or unusual. Also, if (you're talking about ranked and) you're somewhere +-100 of 1150, I'll duo with you if you want.
If it's normal, go whatever. It's 2-3x as bad as ranked if you're trying to win.
