VOTE: DarthYoshi because I apparently am not the only one who thinks Yoshi would be awesome as a Sith.
What time zone are you in?
Central Standard time, so UTC -....6?
How much experience do you have playing mafia (either on or off-site)?
I have completed 1 newbie game and I have one more ongoing. I have played a few IRL, but they don't count because nobody had any idea what the heck they were doing, basically lynching a random person.
About how active are you usually in a game?
I will be very active now that it's summer, but I am very inactive during the schoolyear.
RVS or RQS? Why?
RVS. RQS sparks discussion, but you don't get any reads from it. RVS gives discussion but also gives you an early read on the player who is bandwagonned.I'm back, sort of. Not a lot of free time to play, but I'm planning to be modding some mish mash and stuff this winter.
Eragon Mafia, a 17-Player Large Theme, will be coming to the large theme queue soon(ish) if all goes well. If you're interested, PM me to pre-in.- Ironhead

@GM: I like your first couple of rules But I suggest that if rule #1 is you do not talk about Mafia, then rule #2 ought to be you DO NOT talk about Mafia! Then rule #3 can be no land wars in Asia

I'm usually on Pacific Daylight Time (GMT-8 +1)
I have about ten games completed @MS. Alduskkel actually modded my first newbie game here. Hopefully I've improved since then....
I'm pretty active. I'll do my best to post every day.
I think both RVS and RQS have their uses, hence why I am using both.
1. Mountain time zone
2. Have been playing at various sites or in person since college; so a little over ten years
3. I am pretty active (2-3 posts per day) when my wife lets me if I seem a bit inactive, it is probably because she has me mowing the lawn or something
4. I prefer RQS. It is too easy for scum to fly under the radar in RVS, because of course their votes are not random.
VOTE: WIERDALEXV for instantly linking RVS to the concept of bandwagoning. Why must RVS result in bandwagons? Couldn't it proceed with an approximately equal distribution of votes among several candidates?
By the way, I hate unjustified bandwagons -- another way for scum to fly under the radar.- monk

Was that a serious [pregame] vote (I mean, it won't count, but is it with the intent of voting me when the game starts)? Because I don't see what we would really get out of just voting everybody randomly.I'm back, sort of. Not a lot of free time to play, but I'm planning to be modding some mish mash and stuff this winter.

@Alex and Ironhead: Same question to monk--why are you voting when the mod hasn't said the votes will count?
jilynne wrote:I'm not trying to be too attack-ish, but are you saying for RQS, the questions aren't info?
Why are not trying to be "attack-ish?" Don't want to alienate us lest we try to lynch you?
TWIE wrote:What information related to the game have we gained from knowing timezones, games completed, and projected activity level?
It isn't information that can be used now, it is information that can be used later. Take activity level as an example. Say a player is an active lurker, but if they say so at the beginning, I can be like, "Hey-o, game links please," and if it turns out the player active lurks as town, then it becomes a null tell for me. Like I said at the outset, it is mostly for my personal benefit.
The RVS/RQS question, though, is actually to try to move the game forward. I think how people fall down on that divide is pretty interesting. On hiatus from any new mafia commitments.
Jesus loves you. But that doesn't mean you're town.

Well then, I guess I should come out right now and say that I am considered an active lurker. I don't try to, but everyone says I do. I dunno. And people keep telling me I'm obnoxious. I don't try to.

Mountain, UTC-6 I think.
Two games before I came here, four completed here.
It depends, I try to post every day but sometimes life interferes.
I don't have a preference, I've seen both generate discussion.- Secret Project

Answering for myself only, of course.
Central
About 15 games, mostly on Mafiascum but I think 3 on Scorehero plus a bunch (11 I think) of werewolf games that I don't really count on the guitar hero website.
Depends on how interested I am and how much time I have. I've been that guy that quintuple posts every hour and I've been that guy that only comes in and says "catchup post coming soon!" and then it doesn't happen.
I prefer RVS, personally. Most RQS questions I see don't seem relevant to the game and voting patterns are the easiest way to catch scum.evilpacman18 and MrBump hydra account- Secret Project

A little info about us. This is both of our first game as a hydra. Our play styles are very VERY different so it's gonna be an experience. Don't quote me on this but I wanna say he lives in Ireland. The mod hasn't specified it to be required anywhere so I'm thinking we're not gonna sign our posts. It shouldn't be too hard to tell us apart though, as we'll be posting at different times, mainly, and probably with different opinions here and there. If you CAN'T tell us apart though, it'll be a success.evilpacman18 and MrBump hydra account- Elsa von Spielburg

I've probably played ~100 games IRL, and about a dozen or so online, on this site and a few others.
I typically can post several times a day if I get rolling in a game, typically shorter posts, I hate walls. However, I am graduating in 2 weeks, so my activity may be very spotty for this beginning bit.

Hello, I am the other half of Secret Project, MrBump! As my partner has said, our playstyles are very different and this is our first game, so it will be... interesting, to say the least.
And why not count the Werewolf games? It's not like 99% of the time the logic used is ridiculous. I quote;
"I'm thinking Lightning. He's the only one trying to create new suspects so he's trying to lead us."
Hopefully my game will change that somewhat... xD
Onto business:

Again, my partner is correct; I'm Irish, so GMT.
DarthYoshi wrote:How much experience do you have playing mafia (either on or off-site)?
I'd like to say quite a bit now. I started in around November, and I've played around seven or eight games now.
DarthYoshi wrote:About how active are you usually in a game?
I'll try to be active, but I have a few exams coming up next week, but after that I'll be fine. Usually I'm the one smashing F5 every five seconds. I have a condition called "CFS" which boils down to me not being able to go to school all the time and being bored out of my mind.
DarthYoshi wrote:RVS or RQS? Why?
I find it odd you'd call this "personal benefit". Anyway, for me it's RVS, as RQS is usually a pile of crap in which nothing gets done and people overreact to everything. That said, I've only READ RQS and never been a part of it.
This will be my last signed post, anyway. So you can probably work out who I am from my personality anyway xD

I think as much of site as on site now. I'm still learning though!
I fear I'm not the most active player. It can't be helped, I have a busy life.
I guess RQS. It gives a calmer start, I think. It doesn't need people hopping onto all kinds of wagons.
When we are busy answering questions anyway, would you mind answering this one?

Substrike22 wrote:4) No Lynch: As an alternative to voting for someone, you may Vote: No Lynch, but for it to take effect, enough players must vote No Lynch that it would be impossible to form any other majority. So in other words, if there are 6 players alive it only takes 3 to no lynch?
Substrike22 wrote:Finally, if two vote modifying actions affect you, the lower amount takes priority. If this is a non-theme game, note that the flavor involved with a death doesn't actually matter, and therefore I will defer to the order in which the kills are submitted, not the death that is "most damaging."What's the first sentence mean?
I understand that the second sentence means that it actually matters what order the kills were sent in, but who gets priority then, the person who sent in the kill first?
Substrike22 wrote:20) Modkills: Breaking any of the above three rules (or flagrantly violating Rule 16) will result in you getting modkilled. Modkills can be retroactive. If a living player breaks any of these rules, the day may or may not end, depending on what would disadvantage that player's faction the most. A dead player breaking any of these rules will result in someone from the same faction getting modkilled. In addition, getting modkilled results in an instant loss for that player, along with my general hatred. In short, follow the rules. I will keep a blacklist. So if a living player is modkilled during the day, what will take place, the most damaging thing to the player's faction or the least damaging thing? And if a dead player breaks the rules and a separate player (who did nothing wrong) is modkilled, does the second player automatically lose?

2. I have a wiki. For your convenience though, I have completed 23 non-marathon games. I think that makes me one of the more experienced players in the game, although Elsa and Ironhead seem to have loads of IRL experience.
3. Depends on my interest in the game and how much other players are talking. The more other people have said the more I will say.
4. Don't care either way.

Town, easily. There's SO much less pressure on me, and therefore much less lurking (such is usually my awful scum playstyle). In all, it makes for a more active/fun game for me.- Secret Project
